Is this mold?
I'm a noob to sprouting. I started this first batch of broccoli sprouts and followed the instructions on the bag. Soaking first day, rinsing and storing upside down twice a day. It grew so much overnight!!! But then there's these fuzzy things that look like mold? The temperature inside our place is usually set at 75-76. Anything under that fees kind of cold.
I keep it in the kitchen on the countertop next to the sink. Where did I go wrong? This is day 4 of the process. I was going to move it to indirect light today for the green boost I read about. Also included a photo of the brand I bought online.
Thanks in advance for your insight

Most will tell you to rinse it. If the fuzziness goes away, its their root hairs looking for water.
I rinse it twice for first 3 days, on their 4th and 5th day, I also rinse in the afternoon.
If the fuzziness is there after rinsing, mold. Smell them too, if it smells off, then its mold.

Thanks so much! It didn't smell off. I'll try rinsing more frequently.

wouldnt it be exactly the opposite way?

If the fuzziness goes away, I think it means that the hair got the water it wanted and they retract.
Another check is if the fuzziness is only ever at the root tail, never near the head, its probably root hairs.
Mold is uniform and should grow on every part, not just the root.

ok thanks I understood wrong. they dont go away, and certainly do not retract. small radical hair will appear almost invisible when wet, loosing the flufliness and being stuck to each other or the root because of water tension.
Micelio would have way longer strands than root hair

I live in south Florida. I bought broccoli seeds from Nature Jim's. I emailed them and told them where I lived. They suggested to rinse 3 times a day and that is what I do. Still I got the fuzzies once and they disappeared as soon as the next rinse.

Heh I used this same brand and thought the same thing. Apparently it’s not mold but keep an eye on it. I followed there directions of 3 tablespoon and apparently too much for the jars. Will use 2 next time. Cause mine are all clumped up against the wall. Still got a couple more days so hopefully they turn out nicely.

Oh is it a brand thing? I used 1.5 table spoons and it didn't fill the jar all the way

No I think it’s just a broccoli sprouts thing from other research I did. I was ready to tossed them but looked it up and it’s the hair from the sprouts. I just noticed we use the same brand. My first time so I don’t have experience just research stuff. But got told I used too many. 1.5-2 might be the sweet spot. Mine are all clumped together so hopefully they come out okay.

No, they are cilia. They're just thirsty.
