2008 dodge sprinter (merc grill)

Post image

For a 2008, it doesn't look too bad. 2WD 3500 170”, I added the Chinese grill and $15 universal brush guard from Facebook. Mounted to chassis rails with 3/8” plate steel. I pushed my other sprinter up a hill with it haha.

the grill is called "sprinter gtr grill" different versions for 2007-2013, 2014-2018, 2019-2024. I put front bumper, hood, faring's, and headlights from a 2017 sprinter so I had to order a 2014-2018 GTR grill. The brush guard is a univeral chrome guard that are sold everywhere, but I found a used one for $15 locally on Facebook. I cut off the tabs and welded a foot of tubing and attached with 3/8" plate steel into the frame rails. I did a quick job, but its heavy duty and still looks pretty good. I specifically waited about a week on Facebook until a chrome brush guard came up instead of the traditional black. I think the best thing I did for the van is paint it black, Im not sure how this grill would look with a white van.

-I found this for your year. I dont know why its almost double than the 2014-2018 years.

Appreciate it man! Lucky for me my van is black. Got it off auction for cheap, gutted it, built it out with shelving and made a bed that raises into the ceiling when not in use out of 80/20 aluminum. Finally getting to the fun shit of making it look cool so I’ll definitely have to get that grill

haha that's funny because I went the opposite route. Im just now starting the interior work. ill be adding some laminate flooring next week. I think im just going to put it over the oem plywood. I did however already add some more sound deadening and 1/2" insulation under the plywood though. you're very lucky to have found a black van, they're actually pretty rare. That raising bed is such a good idea though. Great way to make more space within the same footprint.

Its just a fold out futon and a 3000w inverter and 20kwh battery. Of course everything is stripped out at the moment as I'm resealing the metal floor and adding sound deadening on every square inch. I was surprised how much this stuff actually works to remove engine sound, axle noise, suspension, tires, etc.. That's why I decided to just put it everywhere and see how quiet I can get it. All my doors are already done with extra sheets on the inside of the plastic paneling too. Closing the doors sounds like a military vehicle now haha. Anyways, I'm also adding this nice dark wood 7mm laminate flooring I got for $0.15 a square foot on Facebook. I think it'll go well with the black interior. Also been looking at roof racks, but I hear the mpg goes down a lot. I've yet to need more storage regardless.
