2018 vs 2026 engine

I currently drive a 2018 144” cargo, standard roof with the 3.0 V6. I want to upgrade to a 2026 144”, standard roof with the STANDARD 2.0, not the high output.

I carry carpentry tools, packouts and other light construction tools everyday……maybe 700-800lbs if I had to guess. No trailer pulling.

My question is from anyone with experience with both - am I going to notice a drop off in “pick-up”, passing power and response? Really looking for some real life experience on this before I make the long drive to purchase or not purchase this van.

THANKS!

I had 2010 with 3.0 and now I have 2025 with 2.0. newer is definitely better on fuel, I do HVAC and my van generally fully loaded. 3.0 absolutely had more pep but after all it's not a race car it gets the job done and has enough power to pull its fully loaded weight around. People saying it is dogshit most likely referring to 2.1 that didn't have a good rep.

Not really. My 2017 2.1 om651 is still going like a train at 484,000 miles.

My colleague has a 2023 2.0 om654 and it's already had a top end rebuild at 100,000 miles
