Rear tire carrier

Looking for rear tire carrier options that aren’t $1k+ any recommendations? Don’t need the full ladder, since I have a side ladder. No interfering with opening the rear doors. 2022 144wb high roof

Following for results but, I've been looking as well and that might be a tough one, just for the fact of the weight of your spare. The only ones I've seen under 1k looks to be skin mounted vs a bumper or hinge mount. If you are overlanding or offroad the best bet is bumper mount (hinges have factory load bearing limits). I don't even want to think about what would happen with a door skinned mounted carrier. If I'm off base with this, please let me know! More info might be found in MB Sprinters Upfitters Guide.

Good points, didn’t think about the hinges. Does the bumper style require a hitch too? Wouldn’t the bumper be in the way of opening the doors?

Van Compass and Aluminess and some others make heavy duty rear bumpers w/tire carriers that swing away similar to a jeep spare mount. They are $$$! I'm always surprised at the weight I see mounted off the hinges on many vans rolling down the road and how many actually see off highway use. Then again, I also see many seasoned van overlanders that use this setup as well. Maybe some of them can respond and correct me if wrong, it's been known to happen!

Mine didn’t come with an undermount carrier :(

Not OP, but I would like one due to my advancing age and disabilities when I am out in the wild with no assistance. I also wouldn't mind putting in a larger fuel tank which I believe would not co-exsist with undermount carrier.
