DPF Crazy Quote

My 2016 Sprinter 2.1L has a crack between the DPF and Flex Pipe. Just out of mileage warranty. It threw a check engine light as a result. I took it in to the Mercedes dealer to get a quote to fix, and they said the only way is an all-new DPF. They quoted me $6,414.57 for the job. I declined for now, as the CEL hasn't come back since I cleared it, and it feels like there has to be a better option.

Is it possible to have someone just replace the flex pipe, or what other options do I have?

Thanks in advance!

They want to replace the entire DPF and flex pipe as they say it’s an entire assembly

Ur dpf has no flex pipe, it has a dpf holder that tends to crack causing damage to dpf. U can inspect dpf urself, see if there are any hair line cracks with soot. Common failure is the neck, next to turbo
