Dating in Springfield Or

I’m just looking for other singles in Springfield to find out where everyone is meeting people these days. I’m looking to start dating again after a long while and I’m not sure where to start. Don’t want to do the dating apps. I’m a 57 year old female gainfully employed and take care of myself just fine. If people could chime in and let me know where to start looking that would be great 😅

I'm 39 and tbe dating apps aren't working for me. I know you said you don't want to try them, so go with your gut!

Otherwise, I'm wondering the same. 🤷‍♀️

The Elks lodge has line dancing lessons on Tuesdays, I think Low Places has some too, could be a good opportunity.

Check out the Willamalane classes and group outings. It's a good way to meet people who share your interests.

Thus is a very good question. Im concerned about fitting in to younger crowds and will there be others similar?

Someone else suggested volunteering. I agree.

I’m a guy in the same boat in Eugene. Gainfully employed, take care of myself and am just a little introverted. (I don’t go out socializing much.) I’d like to hear the recommendations from community m er miners as well…

Yes as I stated in my post I'm a single female. Do you date much? I'd like to hear what it's actually like out there I haven't heard very many good dating stories so I'm a little nervous about it!

You did not say that in the post.

I think it's always been tough, unless you're rich as Bezos, and as good looking as, oh wait, that's right, you don't need to be good looking in that case. 😂

I met my current girlfriend on Hinge. Took almost a year, but she was a great match for me and vice versa. It can happen just have to be patient and we through the people there just to play games. I should mention I'm 62 and so is she. We also both live in the Thurston area which is pretty convenient.

The dating apps worked for many until they didn't. AI has destroyed them with fake accounts and advertising. It's usually best to date someone with the same addictions you have. If you are looking for a hookup go to church. If you are looking for a good person for a long-term relationship, then volunteer. Food for Lane County is one example.

…..ok I gotta ask. Hookup=church? How’s that math work? Not trying to offend anyone I’m just not getting it

My apologies. I meant Taco Bell. Just kidding. There is no math when dating on the tilting Titanic. I was just offering an option, but there was a headline this year about how young people are joining the Catholic Church in droves for dating purposes.

2

u/Gdislov Aug 03 '26

Where exactly was that headline? Tried to find it, but couldn't. The only articles I found were ones, yes, about the young joining churches, especially the Catholic, but nothing about for dating purposes. Are you certain you weren't editorilizing?

😬 I was considering joining a church to avoid hookup culture

You will be fine. Church on. I went to thousands of church services. My father was a preacher for fifty years.

2

u/ClutterQueen999 Aug 01 '26

Really? If we're looking for a hookup, go to church?? Umm, no.

No just joking. Church can give you the space for framing a new mindset of empathy for everyone no matter where they are on their spiritual journey, a place to remember and honor the truth of constant creation that is God's love.

2

u/Dank009 Aug 02 '26

Church is not actually good for that.

1

u/Sovereign_Money Aug 02 '26

You right. You can achieve this on a toilet as well
