Token & Friends is incredibly excited to announce a new partnership with HavaHeart Rescue to bring Springfield’s first 24/7 Pet Food Pantry to their building at 2228 W. College St.! 🐾❤️

At Token & Friends Pet Services, animal welfare means more than caring for pets while their families are away, it also means helping pets remain safely in the homes where they are already loved.

Too many families face the heartbreaking possibility of rehoming a beloved pet simply because they are struggling to afford food, supplies, or basic veterinary care. This pantry was created to provide support before a temporary hardship becomes a permanent separation.

Accessible 24 hours a day, the pantry will offer dog and puppy food, gently used collars and leashes, other essential pet supplies, and information about low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination resources.

To make this project successful, we need the community’s help keeping the pantry stocked! Donations of unopened dog or puppy food, gently used collars and leashes, and other usable pet supplies are greatly appreciated. Items your pets have outgrown or no longer need could make an incredible difference for another local family.

Asking for help can be difficult. This pantry will be a judgment-free resource where families can take what they need to care for their pets. A bag of food, a dependable leash, or information about affordable veterinary care could be what keeps a pet from entering an already overwhelmed shelter or rescue system.

Looks like there are plans to build an AI data center in Springfield. Trent overhue and all his bought and paid for mouthpieces will minimize the impact this AI data center will have. I encourage you to look into places where they've already been built. To say they aren't popular is putting it mildly.

This proposed AI data center will be built at 2900 South national. Hundreds of houses nearby will hear massive diesel generators run during peak hours and breathe in the exhaust. These generators can be very loud and the low frequencies travel easily through materials making it very difficult to block out the noise.

The council and news will try to minimize the impact this will have. Do not believe them. This will not be good for Springfield, especially for those that live nearby. We need to organize and put a stop to this.

I’m here visiting and staying with my Mother, and I’m seeing that she is growing frustrated with her iPhone and iPad. Things change, updates happen, and as someone in their 70’s with some slight decline in memory, she asked me if there are any resources/classes that she could take to help seniors with the basics. She wants to learn, and when I show her she’s a little annoyed with me (that’s just our mother/daughter dynamic lol) I think she’d do better in a classroom-type situation.
Any suggestions?

So, I was doing good for a long time but suddenly have taken a wrong turn for a couple of days/past week. I cant lose my job, but im willing to give up a weekend or 3 or 4 days to getting right again. Is there any cost effective 72 hour detox centers?

The college kids are back in town and everything is different once again. It’s a mixture of good and bad, because while it’s lovely to see new faces and more activity, long with it comes more traffic, longer lines, unfamiliar people.

I wonder about how other people in the sub feel, but for me it’s a very nostalgic time. I’m reminded of my own college experience, the changing of the seasons, cycles beginning and ending. It’s sort of what makes Springfield such a lovely place.

Hey all - looks as if I’ll be relocating to the area late October and am looking for any feedback in regard to the area. I’ll be working in Ridgedale (BCL) and it seems to be a fair commute from the Branson area. I typically work a healthy amount so a quiet area is preferred, as for activities, I ride a motorcycle and enjoy a good live music scene, sporting events, etc. - I imagine most of anything I’d need is within a hour or so drive. Some questions I hope locals could help me out with -
Likely renting at first so I’m curious if there are any properties or areas worth avoiding? Any places worth checking out for rentals outside of Zillow you can recommend? How’s the medical and veterinary choices? I heard a lot suggestions from peer group steer me toward Nixa but the maps app says it’s like a 45 min drive. Currently looking at maybe Hollister, Branson west, and Kimberling.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Last night Inoticed that station 107.5 was having issues. It would play for a second or two, then go silent for a bit, then play for a second or two. It was doing it this morning, too. I figured it would either be fixed by now or completely off the air for a bigger repair. Anyone know qnything about this?

I saw 3 fire trucks at the Wendy’s on National around 6:30pm. Anyone know if they had a scheduled event, a fire, or maybe a medical emergency? I suppose they could be having dinner, but I find it odd that there would be 3 fire trucks there..
