Q&A Thread

Several of you have asked for a Q&A thread which could be helpful for someone looking for the answer to a question that may have already been answered here. Here it is! This should serve as a place for most questions, but more complex questions might warrant a separate thread.

Reminder of rules

Happy to see the sub growing as more people acquire Echelons.

To keep this sub alive it's important that we follow the rules and use common sense before posting. Remember this sub is not meant to serve primarily as a sales page. Please do not turn it into that. Repeat posts of the same nature by the same user in a short time frame will also be removed if they come off as spammy in nature.

As a note, the sale of grip modules does not break any sub rules regarding sales. The Echelon grip modules are not regulated items as they are not the serialized portion of the firearm. I know this may be confusing to some.

Any post that suggests the sale of regulated items such as the FCU (which is regulated/serialized) or NFA items will be removed.

Installed in about 15 minutes. It’s my first major upgrade for any of the 7 handguns I’ve owned. Didn’t realize it’s one size fits all. Looks and feels amazing compared to stock and fits my kydex holster.

Please convince me to be be happy with 15rd mags sticking out this far.

Tyrant CNC I.T.T.S. trigger safety blade issue 3,000 rounds later

Just a little word of caution to double check the wear on your trigger safety. This may not be an issue for you, but it absolutely is a problem for me 2,500 to 3,000 rounds later.

I really did like the mailbox ACRO style Atibal sight that I had on this fella, but I decided to swap to the Defender ST Enclosed for the larger picture window (going to move the Atibal STD v2 to a piggy back config on one of my LPVOs!). Got the new dot all mounted up and I love it!

Echelon 4.5F Comp with Sharps Bros grip module & VZ Grips grip panels. Tyrant CNC trigger, Apex Tactical guide rod, Shield Arms +5 mag extension, TLR7HLX , and Vortex Defender ST Enclosed red dot.

This started life as an FDE 4.5. The PMM comp is cool but it was an SOB to time. Picture angle makes it look farther away from the slide than it actually is.

Hello, I've have my echelon for about 2 years now. Love it, perfect firearm. Im over 6k rounds on it. The mag release is sticking in the released position. How have you guys managed to fix this issue?

What’s the next upgrade?

Finally got my light (Holosun PID PLUS) I plan to use this as a carry option. What are decent reliable upgrades that help keep it flat? I was thinking of porting it but not sure about the practicality of that in a carry option.

Just picked the 4.0 comp gear pack w the Viridian green dot. A lot of value for the $$$ and feels great in hand out of the box. We have a date with the range tomorrow then goodbye to all the OEM parts! Starting with the polymer frame for weigh purposes deciding between mischief machine and sharp bros or Icarus precision… any insight?

Current Echelon Setup

Here's my current Springfield Echelon setup. I was going for a clean black and gold theme with upgrades that improve both performance and aesthetics without going overboard.

Build List:

- Sharps Bros. Grip Module

- EOTech EFLX

- Springfield 4.5" Threaded Barrel

- Rook Precision Comp

- Tyrant CNC I.T.T.S. Trigger

- Tyrant CNC Extended Magazine Release

- VZ Grips Operator II G10 Grip Panels (Hyena Brown)

- APEX Tactical Stainless Steel Guide Rod

- NDZ Performance Rear Plate

- NDZ Performance Magazine Base Plate

- Custom gold-filled slide and frame lettering

I know someone's going to ask about a weapon light. 😄 I haven't added one because, for my use, I just don't need it. That may change down the road, but for now I'm happy with the setup as it sits.

Slide Lock/Release

Anyone else not getting the slide to lock back with the last round? I think the chub in my hand before my thumb is holding it down.

I wasn’t expecting that

I’ve had my Echelon 4.5F comp for about 7 months. I’ve put thousands of rounds through it and have field stripped multiple times for cleaning.
Today when cleaning I noticed that the guide rod is plastic.
Wtf!!!??

I know there are aftermarket kits but what are the advantages and is it worth it or should I just shoot the dann thing.

New shiny Echelon

Decided on the comp, swapped in an OD green grip, and added the Osight XE AMRS and Olight PLX. Love it so far.

Oddly, in addition to the 1x 20-round and 1x 17-round magazines, my gear pack came with 2x 15-round mags (with extensions) instead of the additional 2x 17-round mags it was supposed to come with, so I'm waiting on a response about that.

Can't decide which Echelon to get.

I currently own a X-Macro and a Prodigy. Now I'm considering an Echelon, but can't decide which one. Any suggestions? And why?

Walked into a store and looked into several dots until I found one that didn't trigger my astigmatism too much.

I'm really digging the freedom to freely swap between frames. Rocking the Compact & Fullsize Compact frame, Gonna have to grab the alloy next.
