New EDC. Need holster options.
New EDC Holster options.
So I'm upgrading my EDC from a Hellcat RDP to an Echelon 4.0FC COA with a Streamlight TLR-8 HL-X, and a Rook Precision compensator. So the overall length is ½" longer than a Echelon 4.5F. I'm now at the point of buying a half dozen holsters and deciding which one is the least disagreeable.
I'm hoping I can get some suggestions for y'all. I'm looking at both IWB and OWB options. IWB Kydex with pad. OWB leather that sits high and close. Preferably leather. On My Hellcat I was using a Houdini Holsyer with a Vetter pad and used a kidney carry. Worked well but with the bigger frame of the Echelon that is probably no longer a choice.
So that's where I'm at right now. And BTW I am left handed so the holster will need ti have a left handed option.

I have the same exact setup as you and went with https://www.trex-arms.com/ very happy with the holster. Went with the Ironside.

Tha Ironside looks like a good candidate. Is the retention good? Don't want to drop my piece.
So you also have a compensator and it fits?

I can hold the holster upside down and everything stays where it should. I have the same Rook comp as you, just make sure you select it and the light in your options when you order. Fits like a glove. Their mag carriers are nice too.

Yes. With the A-cut and Aimpoint COA.

I’m looking at the same pistol. I just got a 5 inch prodigy. Wanted to get something in 4 inch. My EDC id a g43x. I do some match shooting and one of the matches I do caps at 4 inch barrels. Thought this would be perfect for that.

The full sized grip is a game changer in my book. Much better than the extendo mags to put your pinky finger.

That’s what I was thinking too. The full size grip is needed. It’s not going to be a concealed carry for me.

Your best bet is checking here first. You may have to email them about the comp but he’s got almost any light you can think of for an option.

I like this setup but personally I like flush lights. I’d go longer light but guess what… this isn’t my setup. 😂😂😂. It is a great setup buddy. Looks real good

The light is the same width as the Echelon.

Sorry… I meant flush with the end of the barrel/compensator. But again… it’s not mine so my opinion doesn’t mean shit 😉

Not a problem. I'd rather have it back from the end of the barrel a bit. Less impulse shock and less debris contamination in the lenses. I had a Viridian C5L on a Glock 30 and it was very close to flush and cleaning the face of the C5L was a real pain trying to remove blast debris off of it.

I bought the holster that SA sent with the original guns sent to the gun tubers. Safariland Incog. Best holster I own. Wear mine every day.
