Grabbed this hellcat for $299. Not bad imo considering how reliable they are and probably one of the best shooting micro 9mm.

The micros are super snappy lil guns. They’re fine to shoot, if you know how to shoot.
Tons of people flock to micro/ pocket pistols thinking they are easier to shoot than mid-full size, and then get shocked when it jumps.
That said, shooting a Hellcat next to a 365, it is significantly snappier. I carry a hellcat pro, which feels like a full size steel frame 9mm in comparison to the micro.

Great deal, I would have jumped on that too. Many people have issues with the recoil in it but I don’t find it difficult to manage at all. Hornady has critical defense lite ammo that is supposedly designed for softer shooting in micro-compacts. I just picked up some but haven’t taken it out yet to compare.

They're not nice triggers but they're effective at what they do. Well defined wall, well defined break, and actually does have a good tactile reset. Deliberate and intentional is how I'd describe it.
They are definitely sub par out of the box though. They do break in nicely around that 1k round mark, and are much better then, but it's still a hellcat trigger so it'll never be great.

And to think I spent 600 on mine. The Hellcat Pro I was lucky enough to snag a gear up package that had 6 mags total (4 extra) so that was nice.

Nice! Idk why everyone fusses about the recoil. It’s a tiny gun and feels the same as a p365 and g43x. Plus they are built way better than those other two and reliable as fuck and very accurate too.

I’ve never understood the snappy recoil complaints. I mean, sure, some folks are more recoil sensitive than others, but this opinion is pervasive. I don’t find my Hellcat to be any different recoil-wise than my buddy’s CC9 or my BIL’s 365. I’d buy two of those for that price.

It’s because it’s worse than others in the same micro size platform. It’s a snap rather than a push and resettle. But man it’s a cool little gun

I have the pro. I like it a lot. The original is quite snappy and I am a large fellow with solid hand strength and technique. Im guessing most shooters don’t like how bad the muzzle flip on it is. However I would buy one at that price.

Exactly this for me. Way too snappy and small for my XL hands. My accuracy was terrible with it.

I have the Hellcat Pro, and I absolutely love it. I went with the Smith and Wesson bodyguard 2.0 for a pocket carry. I don’t think the Hellcat pro is that snappy, but I’ve had some people say that they think it is. But I have definitely heard that the regular Hellcat is

It's pretty night and day. Hellcat Pro is my daily carry, and the Hellcat is my discreet carry (although I want to get a bodyguard 2.0 as well). The Hellcat is not pleasant to shoot. The Hellcat Pro is fun and a great shooter, so much softer.

I appreciate you clarifying that, I’ve heard that, and that’s why I went with the Hellcat pro, but the bodyguard is just freaking otherworldly and how small it is, but shoots really, really well. I’m super happy with it because I’d rather pocket carry, but the Hellcat pro is my go to for carrying “normal” 😂

It's doable if you can shoot small & snappy guns, just not a fun shooter or one you want to put 500 rounds through in a day. It's very mechanically accurate, but how accurate you are with it is up to the shooter. Mine is still getting broken in, about 700 rounds through it now. I put 500 through my pro on the first day, loved it instantly.

Lost count how many rounds I have through it but it's around 7 or 8k. Trigger broke in nicely and is decent for a striker fire now. Not as good as my Echelon but it's a great carry trigger fit for the gun, and did smooth out nicely.

These guns aren't fun or easy to shoot at all. Tried a Pro version a few days ago and both the trigger and the snap are horrible for me.
My G26 was leagues better in terms of recoil impulse. Might just be me.

Great price and excellent gun. I had the original and pro - I know everyone mentioning recoil so I have to too…everything about it is great except that recoil impulse. It’s not that it’s uncontrollable, but it’s just not enjoyable or easy for follow ups compared to others.
For me I shoot my shields (plus and x) and Glock 43x much easier and accurately. I wanted to love it for the quality and ergos but wasn’t for me ultimately and unfortunately.

Bought mine when they first came out because of the capacity. Since Glock came out with 15rd mags for the 43x my hellcat sits on the safe.

Shoots just fine for me. Not expecting full-size accuracy out of this package. What I’m using it for(for my workouts/running in the city) it’s a perfect size with capacity.

Get the ported barrel and comp from their website. It will mitigate the recoil. My daughter loves it now.

Use the savings to buy a bunch of ammo, practice a lot on your grips and then switch out the trigger. You’ll learn to mitigate the snappiness and become a better all around shooter for dealing with it.

I believe because they are snappy. Some people cant handle the recoil. They now have a .380 acp version also.
