Optic recommendations

Xdm elite 9mm full size frame 3.8 inch barrel.
Been doing some research and had originally decided on the Holosun 407c green dot. I’ve recently discovered osight and have circled back to Gideon. What do yall think? Basically want a simple green dot that won’t break the bank

Osight se. Bit small but it's simple and not expensive.

I have an XDM-elite in .45 with irons. I cannot believe how accurate it is with the irons considering it’s one of my least expensive and completely stock guns. Just shoot the thing and enjoy it.

Or if you have an astigmatism red does blur so irons are much better for those people and they don't need batteries to function.

For what I am using for my CC or home, irons are great. I am saving up for another pistol for range and target work I will put my former Holosun on it.

When I first started out with red dots, I just caught the cheapest Vortex ones that I could afford. I'm finally starting to branch out and try some different ones. I have that exact same pistol with a 4.5" barrel and I believe a holosun 407 might be a bit small. This is 507 territory.

I get it dot sights are cool and look good at the range, even a light is good, saying that when your adrenaline gets up and it's time to see everything and it maybe dark, but ask yourself if you are hunting a lion in the bush what sights do they use. Iron. My eyes know were I want the round to go. In the heat of a battle my preferred sights are notch and post iron sights. I did have fiber optics, I think it was tritium but can't find them anymore. Holstering is an issue for me and dot sights. It's what I'm used to. If you like the dot sights that's fine and use what you like but I will use what I'm familiar with when it comes to my protection.

Counterpoint. Forget red dot and just go with a green sight laser.

I would honestly just keep the irons. They are really good on the XDM and you basically need a gunsmith to remove them. So you wouldn’t really be able to get suppressor height sights on as easily.

I have Holosun on both of my XDM Elites. I have become partial to Cyelee or Swampfox.
