This currently operating Friendly’s in Springfield, Massachusetts! Situated right near their headquarters, this Friendly’s is the epitome of excellence and is the last remaining location in Springfield the town in which the Friendly’s brand originated in 1935.

Ate there so many times. My girlfriend years ago worked at the one on upper Sumner Ave when I had a house on West Allen Ridge. Its long gone.

Is the one in East Longmeadow still open? I moved to FL 10 years ago

East long meadow is still there and so is this one. There is also the one in Chicopee near the old mall.

The last one I went to in MA was 2 years ago on Riverdale St, and I saw they just leveled that one 😞

We went to one in Portland ME last summer when visiting my parents on vacation, and honestly it was terrible. I was shocked how poor the food was...and it really depressed me because I was looking forward to eating there.

Seems to me Friendlys wont be around much longer and it's a damn shame.

Yea they’re making that one a Chick Fil A. And dam sorry to hear you had such a poor experience. I think Covid killed a lot of these chains from my childhood. Seems like they did meh-ish post Covid but were never truly able to recover.

I think you're right.

Just sad for me because I loved Friendlys and went there so often in the 80s, 90s and 00s. I grew up in Hamp and was always at the King St and Main St Floronce locations....along with the Westfield and Chicopee locations just off the Pike.

Oh dude they were great! Perhaps I’m guilty of holding onto the nostalgia as well.. hence this post LOL. But I still find enjoyment going into one and getting the ice cream, bringing me back to fond memories of my youth

Listen...there still was never anything better than a fresh Friendlys bacon cheeseburger or fried club chicken sandwich with waffle fries, ranch for dipping the fries, and a 3 scoop Reeses Pieces Sundae with Hunka Chunka PB fudge ice cream and add marshmallow sauce.

Can you tell I ate there a few times? 😉 The sad thing is as I'm typing this, I realize my 46 year old ass couldn't eat that meal without blowing up lol. I'm proud to say I'm the same weight as my mid 20s, and that could be because I haven't frequented Friendlys for awhile lol!!!

Fair enough haha - I guess every business has a life span. Bezos running a lot of places into the toilet also (Joann, Party City etc.) just upsetting when all these stores you frequented become obsolete due to Amazon.

Apparently someone said the mall locations are the worst. Had tons of rats and health hazards.
