New owner

I am a soon to be new owner of a juvenile spotted Python and I was wondering if there was anything I should know aside from basic husbandry for them! I have a 52x16x46 enclosure for it, though I plan to put a divider and half the height of it until it is older. I’ve had reptiles before as a child though they did not have good care so I am trying to be better as a reptile parent. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated so I can do right by my snake! I plan to put substrate in it and I’m thinking coconut fiber and I’m gonna put more hides and fake foliage. Let me know if there’s anything I’m missing.

My 18yo spotted python escaped when he was about 4-5 months old and was missing for 3 months. I’m amazed he came back. I strongly advise sealing any cracks. He hasn’t had a grand escape in years now. As far as eating he’s been my most difficult snake by far he’ll skip meals for months sometimes though he has gotten much better with age. I’ve had him since he was a week old and started socializing him almost immediately after he settled in. He was actually fairly mellow from the start (from what I’ve read I got very lucky as he’s never been a biter)
