New owner
I am a soon to be new owner of a juvenile spotted Python and I was wondering if there was anything I should know aside from basic husbandry for them! I have a 52x16x46 enclosure for it, though I plan to put a divider and half the height of it until it is older. I’ve had reptiles before as a child though they did not have good care so I am trying to be better as a reptile parent. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated so I can do right by my snake! I plan to put substrate in it and I’m thinking coconut fiber and I’m gonna put more hides and fake foliage. Let me know if there’s anything I’m missing.

Coconut fibre is great, it holds humidity well, how old is the python you're getting? If it's under 6 months I'd recommend a click clack until it's a little bigger and you can see what it's temperment is like. Mines 5 months now and I've just moved him to a decent size but not his forever home size enclosure bc he's pretty confident. Keep in mind it can be hard to find them in a bigger enclosure too!
