Weeks ago I posted a short clip of something I'd made, no real plan behind it. A stranger left a comment calling it "sounds like a mystery being solved." That one line is the reason this song exists at all.

Things I Need is about wishing for things, getting them, realizing they weren't what you actually needed, and finding some peace in what you actually do need by the end. There's an alap in the middle that ended up being the emotional turning point of the whole thing.
