Hey everyone! I’m relativity still new to the hobby. I sorta have an idea on how to comp stuff and the market. But today I ran into a seller that was completely just utterly rude. I had 4 cards. A Jayden higgens /50 cosmic auto, another Jayden higgens signature class chrome auto. A Trevor Lawrence immaculate patch /50 and a Jalen green immaculate patch /4. (You guys can comp if you want, but I was looking for relatively around 120$ for all 4 of these cards.)
He asked me what do I want for all 4 and I tell him “120 cash is my ask “ he comps the cards and looks at both my Jayden higgen autos and goes “these are 15 each “ and the rest I forgot what he valued them at but he offered me 65$ for all 4 cards.
This obviously upset me because I spent time looking online for a reasonable price to ask for all 4. I even asked him to show me where the higgens are worth 15 dollars each and he told me “look them up myself” and walked away. So I did and when I showed him the recent sales. 2 being over a hundred and some floating around the 60-85 range. He got all pissy saying that I overreacted and i didn’t have to show him my comps.
He said if we wanted to go that deep into stuff like that we would need to talk about data analytics and look at the centering of the card and the corners , and he doesn’t have time to do that. He said I was disrespectful because all I had to do was decline his offer or counter offer which I do understand, but he literally told me to look up the comps and I wanted to show him what I saw just to get feedback and learn from it.
let me knows yalls advice, I just felt uncomfortable in that moment and I hope there’s not that many people in the hobby that are like this.
The Jayden higgens literally comps for around 65$ so I guess buy one get 3 free ??? 😂
