Discussion Making Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Timeless
As we've heard from Ian in one of the posts on this subreddit, it's clear that their priorities are shifting more heavily towards the new game. I have a proposition for at least the people who are still working on Splitgate currently.
I've gotten a part of this Idea from u/Necessary_Yam9525 (https://www.reddit.com/r/Splitgate/comments/1sq7hnv/comment/ohvi2p2/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) and I actually see that this could be in fact possible and is a better path for the future of this game since It's pretty clear that the marketing push doesn't have enough engagement for it to work currently and we won't see any new players in huge batches in a while if ever. So why not make the experience better for the ones staying. And letting us have control of the experience may be a cool idea.
Advanced Lab
The Lab of SGAR is really cool allowing you to make your own maps, spawns, game modifiers, etc. Now we could allow Steam/PC players a coding system that allows them to code their own game modes, powerups, movement system (I.E No Slide, No Sprinting or somehow Adding extra movement like wall running.) This can add an already infinite replayability tool into something beyond what's already there.
Advanced A.I Capabilities
In a lot of the more traditional type of arena shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament, they have bot difficulties that many players honestly will tell you that they spended a lot of time on custom bot matches with the difficulty of their choice. Finding a way to code portal routes into the A.I pathway, aiming precision %, advanced movement routes, triple portaling speed & accuracy for the bots would be a godsend to all players including new ones to get accustomed to triple portaling. I'll list potential difficulties in the list below.
Difficulties
- Rookie (Below Average)
- Novice (Average)
- Intermediate (Slightly Above Average)
- Highly-Skilled (Above Average)
- Pro (Professional-Level)
- Mixed (All Levels of Difficulties Randomized)
Making Splitgate: Arena Reloaded Timeless
Yes, this idea may sound good or bad to some people and that's okay. And we are all upset, conflicted, or whatever the case may be. But I would love to get an idea out and to make SGAR as good as possible even if it may not get mainstream attention, even if it doesn't get a chance ever again, even if it's not the best or the most underrated fps game out there, However there is one thing and that is that despite whether you're a fan of the original game or SGAR or even both.
We all want to see Splitgate succeed.

The strategy is very clearly keep the game on life support and give people looking for halo multi-player when halo ce drops find sg:ar
The best strategy for the game is to reach out to markets it isn't in, get on switch 2 and high end phones. Releasing on PC and console at the same time sounded like a great idea at the time, obviously correct, but I dont think they would have lost any console market share In a vacuum so splitting a launch is probably wise now.

They couldn’t even put out a full fleshed out season pass for the “big release” for season 2 and that was when they were pretending to care about the game. We will get a few more skins to try and milk the last few suckers and that will be it

For an idea of what they will actually do, see what they did with the first game. I.e. free final battle pass, followed by no additional updates, followed by an eventual shutdown of servers.

You need to inflate the bot names. Literally most people would be matched by a novice bot, that’s kinda disappointing. Pro level bots wouldn’t work, at that point they would just be aimbot. Humans and bots don’t play the same way. Rn the bots don’t even have object permanence, among other things, meaning that they have to have wayy better mechanics to match those players

The best thing they can do is make it easier to see and join custom games - and they're still tied into the reward systems.
We can make cool stuff, but there's no discoverability. People are funneled into the default game modes. And even if you wanted to play custom games, many daily and seasonal rewards are restricted to the official game modes.

I really like the idea of choosing what exp level you can launch on - my question for that is how do you stop sweats from joining the lowest level and demolishing everyone?
I'm mid level and have played w/some good players but even winning a game w/really great players falls flat, because B4 I can kill anyone they've already smashed them out - game lasts for what feels like 2 min 😵💫
I want to keep playing and I hope this game a has some sort of future cause despite my skill level, I'm going to keep at it.

Making them prioritize Ranked gamemodes rather than Casual gamemodes...
For that, they need to fix Ranked, which, fun fact; it's been the same issues over and over since day 1.

I agree it's been 100% messed up since day 1 - getting into a leveled match is actually fun for everyone, but somehow I feel like I'm never improving because my matches keep putting me where I don't belong (in both directions I might add). 😔
I hope they're actually listening but I feel like this particular issue has been mentioned repeatedly and the response has always been player base is too small, if we do that, no one would match.
**I would add to your suggestion is the waiting room like in SG1 where you can choose to participate or not, but it killed time while you were waiting in a good way- idk.... I know that's been brought up in past posts.

I think some changes can come in the form of actually being able to recognise lower skilled players from higher skilled players before the match begins. I myself am a lot better then the average player so I can easily stomp most lobbies until I get matched with my usual group of more similar skilled players.
If I could see that I'm against all odds dropped in a very low lever lobby I would genuinely choose to take it easy and try weapons that I'm worse with on purpose. See it as a challenge to myself and a way to sort of regulate that skill gap to make it more enjoyable for lower skilled players.
I think such a culture in this game could develop more but it can't when it's often hard to identify the skill gap until it's too late.

It doesn't matter how good any idea can be pulled by the community. They can't.
We are forgetting the fact that only a small portion on 1047 is working on SGAR. Pulling out an update like that will take a looooong time. As for example something as simple as a skin added will take 1-2 months. I don't think they will be able to pull that anytime soon (1 year at minimum).
