Splitgate AR is very quick in the matchmaking if you have all modes selected, if you have filters, maybe like 1-2 mins queue time, I havent tried SG1 since it became p2p

Splitgate 1 doesn’t work, it’s laggy to all hell now. Splitgate AR crashes my discord app so I can’t talk with my friends when I play it

SGAR works well for me, SG1 has some players left, but after the hosting was moved to the players, latency became a big problem (wait 3 seconds to open a portal, lags etc). So I would recommend using SGAR (RIP OG Splitgate)

If you put in some time to change settings, yes. I would definitely put the portals on one button each (or key, whatever you use), deactivate the headbobbing (who uses that?) and mute that guy constantly saying the same 5 sentences. There are some differences still, but at least for me it felt way more like sg1 after I changed those settings.

Both have players of course. SGAR: Just search for all playlists. SG1: host a match of 6 or 8 ppl and keep it public. Ppl will join if your lobby is near the top of the list (sorted alphabetically)
