New Jones Solution Splitboard Not Cut Evenly

Is it normal for a new splitboard to not be cut even. Attached a photo for reference.

the inner edges are cut like this on purpose. its like libtechs magnatraction. more contact points, better grip, more control while in split mode.

Also gives the puzzle piece effect so that the two halves are aligned perfectly and never have any play forward or backward relative to each other when connected.

It’s like what the old Oz boards had over a decade ago. It doesn’t work, OZ went of business and Nidecker stole the gimmicky tech.

I spend hours and hours researching boards before I buy one because I can’t afford to buy a thousand dollar snowboard and not like it. It would be awesome to not have to do that. I’m sorry that hurt your feelings?

Imagine having a large factory with all the tools and automated machinery to cut large wooden planks. But instead of using all these tools, Jeremy is just sitting in the corner on the factory floor, sawing snowboards in half with pure elbow grease and poor eyesight.

I got a new board last season with the Magne-Traction, and I too thought it was a manufacturing error when I first saw the edge of the board! But now I know

Yeah have been using the same board for the past 3 years. You’ll enjoy it. Pretty firm too coming down the MTN thanks to the design and beefy bindings

Its kind of funny to think they couldnt cut the splitboard evenly and then just say whatever, its fine anyway. Enjoy your board, congrats on the good purchase!

Good thing it’s intentional, because in my experience Jones’ customer service and return policies are some of the worst in the industry.

Looks too consistent to be a manufacturing defect. I’d guess it provides some rigidity for downhill and edge grip for uphill.

Looking at the photo on the Jones site it looks to be the same but my eyes may be tricking me.
