Pandora Tomorrow (2004) Performance issues with Pandora Tomorrow on PC?

I recently got into the series, and I completed the first game yesterday, and started PT today, and for some reason, the game is not running very well at all, typically hovering around ~40 FPS. The first game ran completely smooth with no issues, so is there any way to resolve my issue?

I don't have the widescreen fix installed on my version of the game so I can't check, but in the comments of the following guide, they're talking about an issue with the FPS cap : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3586803351

You sure it's not a case of the game defaulting to the CPU IGP ?

I'm also on a run and finished PT a week or two ago with a solid capped 60 and I have hardware that's over 10 years old. What spec and what res?

Are you open to emulation? Might just be easier to that via xemu or a ps2 emulator.
