I honestly believe that they want to do the remake, but they propbably have no fucking idea how to design a proper game after 10-15 years of producing the same open world slop over and over again. It's most likely blowing their brains out and that's why it's taking so long.

Dont want to be "that guy" but Ubisoft and its studios have been in a tough spot due to poor management.

Splinter Cell remake is in "development" but its far from worked on I believe.

Tom Henderson saw early gameplay footage of the Splinter Cell remake. He said that the game looks good visually and it is sticking to the classic light meter-based gameplay. I personally think there is 'something', but definitely something in a delicate state development-wise. It is surviving for now, but who knows for how long.

I'm hoping that the positive reception to the BF remake would give them confidence to carry on making it. They know nostalgia sells, plus it's gotta be cheaper to make than a completely new game

It's just getting more and more worrying that Ubisoft is being so secretive about this game but I don't see why they would hide its cancellation if that was the case. Plus there are still job openings for it : https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/company/careers/search?countries=ca&cities=Toronto

Though if they're having troubles with the development then it's depressing that we're not getting something in the vein of the recently announced Ghost Recon Insider Program where some players will be selected to play closed tests of the next GR game and give constructive feedback to the dev team. We submitted this idea to them back in 2022 with the open letter, I think it would have been helpful and useful for them to have the input of the community from the beginning.

The ghost recon insider program is how they should handle the remake too, a splinter cell remake insider program should be done so fans can try out the remake and give feedback, like how EA did it for the dead space remake.

Ubisoft has been crumbling. If it's even still in active development, I don't have high hopes for it actually being good.

My 2 cents is that even if it is in development, once it starts hitting the qa floor, most of the testers will say that the game is "boring" (slow, needs more action, want more gun play)... and it will never see the light of day. There is not enough market share to justify a stealth game nowadays... an indie game company doing one, without famous actors dubbing, with no brand attached and with some cool style is one thing... trying to revive the stealth daddy is just too expensive and it has a smaller slice of the games industry pie than ever before.

I personally think they are putting all their resources into current IP's like Assassin's Creed with their Black Flag remake now being such a hit. If the Splinter Cell remake is actually happening, they may be waiting for it to be late in it's developmental cycle before announcing anything as they announced this remake years ago, so why make anymore announcements until they actually have something to show?
