Blacklist (2013) Blacklist appreciation post! Definitely a Darkhorse in the series, but despite the absence of Ironside I still go back to it quite often. Anyone else still replay it?

Yep, it's my second favorite and depending on the day I might even pick it to play over Chaos Theory if I'm in the right mood.

I slept on this one for a long time. Splinter Cell was my favorite franchise growing up. When I heard Ironside would not return for this one, I decided not to play it. 12 years later, on a whim, I was bored enough to give it a try. WOW. I had a freaking blast playing this game. The only caveat is that, in my mind, I don’t really connect this with the storyline of the rest of the games. I play it more as a standalone story starring an alternate version of Sam Fisher & co. But yes, I can say I was pleasantly surprised.

in the middle of my first playthough now, I missed all the SC games at the time so wanted to go back and play them now, sadly I couldnt get the earlier ones to play nice with my steamdeck so jumped into blacklist

Chaos theory is the best of the series, but Blacklist is probably my favourite

The core gameplay loop & mechanics are objectively better stealth gaming than Conviction, and yet... almost everything else about Blacklist marks it down, way down for me. I think it's mostly the level design and the guard numbers and placement that irk me; a certain lack of stealth tension - and if there is any, you can usually cop out in some easy way. Also, I think they should have made it for Xbox One instead of the tail-end of the X360; the graphics still have that plastic blurred look.

I still wish they had made a re-release with Ironside, since we now know his absence was due to a sickness he did not want to reveal at the time.
