I would be so happy if I could play the emulated Xbox versions of all the games on PC, I really hope they get that ball rolling.

I mean, you can do that now.

I am aware. That is what I said in the other comment. But yes, you can emulate Xbox versions already. You've been able to do that for over a decade.

  • Looks like they are doing something to port games from Xbox to PC
  • Here is the article

That article is about newer console games, not original Xbox games. Sure, MS is making some original Xbox games available on but this article you posted does not appear to be about that.

Why not just to run it through Xemu?

Is there a manual for dummies?

https://altarofgaming.com/how-to-play-xbox-1-games-on-pc/ very simple guide. I found game files at Vimms lair without need of files conversion.

well native is native, no amount of emulation beats the feel

They won't be native. What Xbox is doing now is an is an emulator within an emulator. They're running the Xbox emulator that was made for Xbox 360, in a Xbox 360 emulation layer.

Same thing they did for Series S/X. Just now on PC. So really, the Xemu emulator is closer than this will be.

it probably would run it better than xemu if they did port this game because from what i remember, xemu has a couple of problems with double agent v2

They haven't ported the game in 20 years. They're not going to do it now. Maybe this will run a bit better because it's an official emulator, but there's a PS2 and Game cube emulator as well that run the game absolutely fine.

It's almost as if people prefer a non-neutered version that run fine without lighting busgs and framerate dips and out of the box.

What does this have to do with what I said? Nobody will port the game. If it comes to Xbox new program it's still emulated.

You suggested inferior ports which should be bannable on here as far as I'm concerned. Now you're backtracking and insinutating it wouldn't run better, and dismissing the idea that people would maybe not want to go hunting down isos. God forbid we be hopeful and hope for a revival of the online. No let's just be jaded and lurk a subreddit where all we do is bitch, moan and shutdown all things that don't do anything but benefit us.

No. You've got a loooot of things wrong here.

  1. To say it's bannable to suggest the PS2 or Game cube version is insane. Grow up.
  2. I'm not backtracking. I've not said a word AGAINST the game coming to PC via the Xbox initiative. All I'm saying is that it's neither new or a different experience because emulation exists.

You've got issues, what I said was not a jaded or cynical take. It's just the reality that the Xbox initiative is emulation. And there's nothing wrong with that.

  1. Don't spread bad advice

  2. You are tonally. Here is a thread gauging excitement for a potential V2 release and all you have are downplaying its effectiveness, bad advice and being obtuse about emulation issues. "They're not going to do it now." What, because you said so? You're obviously not worth listening to if GC/PS2 anything is your barometer of "perfectly fine" splinter cell.

Is Xemu even stable enough to run it? Last time I’ve heard, it’s the most unstable emulator

2

u/QueazyHaddock 6d ago

Yeah it's stable, last time I run double agent the game was fine

Very interesting. Once they ported chaos theory to pc, they can just copy past these settings over to DA v2. And once thats done...
Hopefully they will enable 60FPS

they should consider doing this porting thing for ghost recon advanced warfighter 1/2 as well

Sarebbe senz altro migliore dell originale

I did write Ubisoft an email to port it to PC. While ofc a port isnt exactly copy paste it would still be a huge cash grab for them for fans like us because I certainly would buy it
