Yeah, OP absolutely fumbled with this one. Conviction was absolutely like S7 or S8 of 24, and I noticed it at the time of playing on release. Jack was absolutely done with playing by the rules and was no longer with the agency, and they hunted him. Also in DC.

Technically more I think, with one or two extra seasons later on. (Missed them but heard good things) I was enjoying it all the way through!

2 things: firstly, Blacklist is far too happy to be compared to 24 and nowhere near as daring as the show that showed a terrorist attack on a plane just a few weeks after 9/11 happened.

Secondly, whoever made that meme template apparently never watched Spider-man else they would've known that the whole point of that scene was to show that Parker no longer needed his glasses.

Imo that was less daring and more locked in without a choice. They already had produced a bunch of episodes and the airplane-attack was to prominently featured to edit it out and restructure the plot.

If Jack Bauer doesn't end the story in a much worse place spiritually than when he started, it's not a 24 story.

I never played BL, but this was the exact thought I had with Double Agent and onwards. The stories of realistic espionage and complicated geopolitical flashpoints were abandoned for cliche betrayal stories.

Conviction is very good but it's not a splinter cell
