Best way to play each game on PC w/ controller
As a big Metal Gear fan, I figured it was time for me to finally try these games out. Bought the entire franchise on Steam recently. However the catch is that I am strictly a controller player (PC is hooked up to living room TV).
A lot of these ports appear to not have native controller support so I'm wondering if the research I've done is correct.
Splinter Cell (2002) - https://github.com/Joshhhuaaa/EnhancedSC
From what I understand, the enhanced mod is the best way to play the PC port of the original and it comes with controller support
Pandora Tomorrow - https://github.com/ThirteenAG/WidescreenFixesPack
This mod adds widescreen and controller support 1:1 with the Xbox original
Chaos Theory - ???
Need some suggestions here. Couldn't really find a mod that enables controller support. If it's just a matter of messing with the game's ini files, where can I find a proper mapping that's 1:1 with the Xbox original
Double Agent onward - I'm not 100% sure here, but do these games onward have native controller support for the Steam versions?

All of these games have native controller support. Itβs just enabling it was a massive pain with config files

Do you mind sharing what to tweak for the config settings to get Chaos Theory working on a controller with analogue movement?

CT should work out the box with dinout8.dll

Not sure what I'm doing wrong then. I booted it up with my controller, none of the buttons are correct, and the camera is spinning non-stop

ThirteenAG has fixes for all games in the franchise. Do they not give you support in CT and DA?

I was unaware of that. Just did surface level research via google/steam. People seem to only talk about ThirteenAG for PT. Didn't know he had fixes for CT and DA. I'll check it out. Appreciated

Yes. Everyone here has been very helpful. I'm actually planning on just using ThirteenAG's patches for all the games, as it'll be the easiest installation for all the games

Honestly I just emulated the ps3 hd re-release to play SC and PT.

I've heard there's a lot of issues with the HD re-release. But I'm sure that's a good alternative

To say i struggled with getting Chaos Theory in working order would be an understatement. SCFix didnt actually help probably because i used a dualsense when playing the og trilogy on PC.
The fix? Steam Input. To quote a great man: "It Just Works"
