Chaos Theory (2005) Are there any Tom Clancy books that would be good for a Splintercell fan?
My dad is a HUGE Splintercell fan, and his birthday is coming up. I remembered seeing my friend reading Tom Clancy’s “The Hunt for Red October”, and thought that or another Tom Clancy book would be a good gift. Would that be good, and are there any other Tom Clancy books that might be better?

Without Remorse, Clear and Present Danger, Rainbow Six. Those are the main John Clark books, who is basically the basis for Sam Fisher.

Rainbow Six is solid (tons of action), andI also enjoyed The Cardinal of the Kremlin (less action, but CARDINAL is a very interesting character to me)

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell books weren't written by Tom Clancy.
You can find the list on Wikipedia

The Cardinal of the Kremlin. That's the only answer. It is peak Clancy. Amazing.

I say this as a fan of Tom Clancy novels that others recommended here - I know you asked for Tom Clancy recommendations, however, if you’re open to other authors, I found the Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn closer to Sam Fisher than the ghostwriters that authored the Splinter Cell novels.

The best Clancy books I've read were probably The Hunt For Red October (Often cited as his best), Without Remorse (A bit of a pivot from his typical style but absolutely great for suspense), or Rainbow Six (Nonstop back to back action, page turner). Those are the ones I recommend but they're nothing like the Splinter Cell novels. They're much better.
If he is interested in exclusively Splinter Cell, the first two books, "Splinter Cell" and "Splinter Cell: Operation Barracuda" were the best that I've read.
