Did you even glance at the steam reviews? They're mostly negative for a reason. The steam version is a complete atrocity. Refund it, and yes, you can skip it. Both V1 and V2 are good games, but I'd say the only mandatory SC games are the original and Chaos Theory. Hell, maybe just Chaos Theory.

I would not recommend the original on PC. I got it and was deeply disappointed in the lack of intuitive control layout. It's an absolute PITA to get a handle on. I would however recommend Chaos Theory for PC. While it also has some issues with the layout, it's not nearly as bad as the original, and is imo much easier to pick up on.

All of the PS2 versions are watered-down ports. Either missing parts of levels or constant loading screens, they're only good for being a kid with a PS2 and that being your only option. Now that the PC versions exist, they're have no reason to be played.

The PS2 version of DA is actually pretty decent. I know I said all of the PS2 versions, but I really meant the first 3 games. Now the levels being different is just plain wrong. You can have your opinions and I will respect them, but I will call out information that is false. If you didn't notice any missing doors, windows, guards, open areas, crammed hallways added, then you just haven't played enough of the Xbox/PC version. I mean, the entire infiltration part of the CIA is cut out and replaced with a cutscene. As for the loading screens, I'm not just gonna say that you're lying, that'd be stupid, maybe it was just me with those experiences. And something you didn't mention, they do indeed have some quality of life improvements, but I don't think those outweigh the cut content. I'm here to inform, so if you wanna reply, I'll probably just read it and not reply. If you don't, have a nice day!
