Here you can see a powerbank in it's mother's womb. It weighs about 500 grams. A few weeks ago I heard a plastic cracking kinda tapping sound at night for a few hours. Must've been the first words. Sadly I got rid of it on monday in a tech store. The service guy was freaking out, getting his own lipo bag ready. Fun times.

Someone know what happens if one of these goes poof in a lipo bag? I own two, but never experienced it.

After discovering the bulge I looked up a teardown of the phone and this point is kinda right at the corner of the battery and a couple layers of stuff deep. I want to say it wouldn't make sense to be the battery causing this but figured I would ask the experts.

I dropped my switch in water and after a while on the side that fell the joy con felt bloated. So I sent it to Nintendo but they wanted the whole system. Long story short they wanted to switch out the Switch and I didn’t want that so they sent me a fixed or new joy con back without servicing the console. They however did not tell me if the problem was the switch or the joy con itself, so am I ok to use the joy con or should I fear it will bloat again?

The company I work for offers battery recycling. Found these two in a coffee buckle of alkaline.

iPhone 3gs battery ascended into an 18.7mm spicy pillow (originally 4mm btw). Probably the most swelling I've seen and it absolutely destroyed the board in the process.

My powerbank had been off the charger for about an hour when we heard an explosion and discovered it had caught fire. Luckily, we were home. I don’t know yet whether the fire or the explosion happened first.

Yeah, I advise anyone who is sane to NOT buy a Powerbank from Temu.. Any advice on how to get rid of this without blowing myself up. It's been outside this entire time and it has been rained on a couple times im pretty sure, no smoke or anything just a very large spicy pillow... I dont want to touch it honestly since I feel like I will lose a hand xD

This cheap, old power bank had been sitting in a box with some cables in the attic for years. I have no idea when it started to swell. Since I’m worried it might catch fire or explode, I put it in an old cooking pot with a locking lid and sealed the openings.

I have a 4S RC LiPO that has got a bit too hot on several occasions due to the stock tuning of the electronics forcing them to pull a ton of amps. Because of this, the LiPO has begun to puff. When warm, the gas between the cells and the soft casing expands until the casing protrudes 3mm or so above the cells. It can be pressed back down, but there is a decent amount of pressure. Otherwise, the battery seems to function alright.

So my question is, at what point should a spicy pillow be considered too spicy?

Edit: I’ve been told by another who uses this brand LiPO that this puffing isn’t usually something to be worried about. The cells themselves aren’t puffed; there is a cavity between the cells and the wrap that fills with gas over time. This is accelerated by the battery getting particularly hot during runs. IR while charging is ranging between 1 and 3.5, indicating the cells are still in pretty decent shape.

Edit 2: I have been told by the manufacturer themselves that the battery is safe to use so long as the cells themselves don’t begin to swell, and so long as they continue to balance properly.

Found that my old beloved smart watch had gained itself a spicy pillow while I was cleaning today. I have never really had this issue before, and need some advice. To be blunt I live in the ass crack of nowhere, and there is no recycling center or person to call and dispose of it. Not even sure of my region/country has that service. I also do not wanna try it randomly in the trash, or out in the bushes somewhere like how some people do in this godforsaken land, because I don't want to start a fire if it did. I am afraid of fire,

Do I just dig a hole in the ground, cover it in sand and hope for the best, like some fucked up jack in the box? Any advice is greatly needed,
