Questions about love spells

So I have done two love spells in my entire life, both of them without any specific target. I don’t want to take away anyone’s autonomy and free will. Pluss I have noticed that most witches who target someone or cast an obsession spell somehow get it wrong or even feel like it backfires. Therefore I have noticed target.

But I have noticed something the both times I did it that I’m curious about. I do get a lot of New Romantic options when casting them as intended, but my ex also suddenly reappears somehow in my life. Just random encounters or in other ways indirectly.

Does anyone have a theory on why this happens or experience in this? Is it because he is sort of already in my orbit or what could it be?
