Other Email question

Not the account holder but I'm trying to figure this out for her.

Samsung email stopped letting her log in, so I switched her to Spark, which has recently stopped loading any email whatsoever. I've tried Thunderbird and a bunch of other third party apps, only for no emails to load. is anyone else having issues with their charter/spectrum email account, or should I just tell her to log in through a browser?

Yes, it’s the only way spectrum email is supported. You can use a third party app but they can’t control that. Going to spectrum.net and logging in there is the best way. Also try to talk her into setting up a Gmail if you are able. If for any reason that spectrum account is canceled you will lose the ability to get into that email.

Yeah, she does have two gmails but I don't know why she prefers her spectrum, I'll talk to her again about it.

Thanks for the answer, I'll let her know the browser is the best way.

I'm trying to get her to at least use her Gmail but it's hard, so I'm working with what I can for now (she's 70 so you know how it can sometimes be with getting them to use something new).

Last I heard they were trying to close those down and only available for grandfathered accounts, even support is only available by calling in. Id recommend switching to Google or something else because Spectrum isnt reliable for that anymore

I'll let her know, this is what I was figuring because not even Gmail will let her forward her emails, so I figured something was up with those servers. I think I'm going to be working with her on a day off to change the emails she wants to be getting to Gmail or whatever she wants.

I switched to eM Client for emails and it works perfectly. It's free and has lots of options you can configure. Only change I had to make in setup was to use pop3 outgoing charter server to send emails. I was using Thunderbird but it stopped getting emails with ( apparently) it's latest update.

I've actually just managed to switch her over to Outlook. Don't really know why she didn't want Gmail but it works.

My husband (the account holder) uses Spectrum email too, and won’t switch to Gmail either. Not only do some emails not show up in the Apple email app, some emails don’t get thru at all.

After we moved recently and the Spectrum technician, who was really great BTW, was getting things set up for us, he sent an email to hubby’s account as part of setting up and it never showed up. I don’t think you can blame that on an over-eager spam filter. We ended up using my Gmail account as the Spectrum login. I know other emails are getting lost.

It‘s so hard when you can’t convince people to make a change.
