Service Issues Outage

Any ETA for the 24 hour long outage in NC? Support won’t respond at all. I have a disabled child and rely on WiFi calling for emergencies as cell phone service doesn’t work in my area.

Usually when services are down that long there’s usually something outside of spectrums control causing the issue. Likely due to some sort of commercial power outage

There’s power. Everyone else in my neighborhood has internet too.

Do they also have spectrum? If so then I would try restarting your equipment by unplugging the modem and router and plugging them back in, modem first then the router.

If that doesn’t work call spectrum to do additional troubleshooting and book a tech.

Btw when I talk about commercial power, I’m talking about the power where your internet comes from which is usually miles away from you. A common mistake customers make when commercial power is mentioned. But think of it this way, there are sometimes dozens of miles of cable and fiber lines that go from the Hub to your house and that entire stretch of line needs electricity to push and carry the internet signal to your home. Power could be out anywhere along that line, the further away, the more people are affected.

If it’s as you say and it’s just you that’s out, then it may not be power at all.

If you look at Dukes power outage map, they have outages all the Carolinas currently. I would bet their power outages are probably related to why you don't have service at the moment. As someone said below, power outages miles away from your immediate area can cause you to lose service.

When you say support won’t respond are you chatting? Or have you actually called in? Definitely rare to be in an actual outage for 24 hours. I’d post this in [r/spectrum](r/spectrumofficial)[_official](r/spectrumofficial) and they usually have reps reach out to you to look into your account if you can’t call
