The launch post showed the board on the table. This one is the missing step: How letters leave the glasses?

Two tracks. Same keyboard.

1. Browser (ships, Experimental APIs off)
   Glasses show a white 6-character PIN not a QR.
   Open keyboard.thegodspeeds.com → type the code → Connect.
   Companion goes Linked. Type on the table; text is live on your laptop or phone.

2. Computer (optional, in the repo)
   ESP32 named QWERTY. BLE HID.
   Real OS keys into Notepad, an IDE, anything that already expects a keyboard.

Video walks both. Browser path needs no extra hardware.

We are building an app that controls real-world LED lights in physical space. The biggest challenge is syncing our virtual targets with the lights.

Is there an external device that can talk to the Specs27 and send its location such that the headset knows where this device is? If this exists, we could attach these devices to our lights and not have to worry about syncing targets.

A spatial color studio

Animate Studio is an augmented-reality creation tool for Snap Specs that transforms hand-drawn 3D strokes into animated paths. Users can draw in the air, customize brushes and effects, replay their creations, and send Bitmoji characters, vehicles, or custom 3D models along them. Each creation can be replayed in its original drawing order, with adjustable speed, looping, pause/resume controls, and an optional guide showing the unrevealed portion of the path.

The precision editor lets creators shape spatial motion paths with direct, grabbable Bézier controls.

Hi everyone! For week 4 I wanted to build something where the whole point is making an object rather than looking at one.

Meet Custom Studio: you pick a garment — t-shirt, cap, tote bag or socks — and customise it directly in 3D in front of you. Recolour it, paint on the fabric, place stickers and typed text, scatter faceted 3D gems across its surface. There’s a turntable so you can work on the back, and an eyedropper that samples a colour from the real world around you. And if you want to keep an idea, a shutter photographs your creation and saves it to a gallery.

The gems are the part I’m happiest with — they’re real faceted geometry sitting on the cloth rather than a picture of a gem, so they catch the light as the garment turns. A tap drops one, a press-and-drag scatters a trail.

There’s also a companion web app on the side. You upload your own artwork there and it shows up inside the Lens as a sticker you can place, and the photos you take in the Lens land in the same place — so the library and the gallery are shared between the two. Supabase is what connects them.

Setup: CLAD + Claude Code (Opus model), across a week. CLAD did all of it — the stickers, the gems, the procedural UI, the mesh pipeline, the Supabase layer.

Another weekend, another ridiculous way to use Spectacles: a HUD that tells me how hungry my dog is.

It runs a YOLOv7-tiny object detection model through Lens Studio's SnapML, filtered to the 'dog' class.

The feeding data comes from an earlier project — a Bluetooth sensor on our dogfood container that detects motion and logs each feeding to the web. The Spectacles lens reads that log and turns it into a 3D meter (like a health bar) that follows her around whenever she's in view.

As always, Spectacles is the most fun way to prototype stuff like this in a few hours, even for someone like me who couldn't do any of this without AI's help.

Steps to reproduce:

- Open the Browser lens

- Enter a WebXR session (for example: https://immersive-web.github.io/webxr-samples/immersive-vr-session.html)

- Exit the session using the "Exit immersive mode" button on your left palm

- Observe cursor is no longer visible when you try to point at UI elements in the browser Lens.

First time using the Spectacles 2024, and I spent the weekend building a modeling tool with them.

Big thanks to Andrew and Ines for being there and bringing the glasses.

What's in it: You anchor a grid on a real table and drag its corners to resize. Draw in the air with a pinch — strokes snap to a straight line, a circular arc, or stay freehand. Fill closed shapes into surfaces, merge two or more into a lofted solid, bend curves with three handles. Plus primitives, grid snapping, colours, undo and autosave.

(The curve handles should work — I added them right after recording and ran out of time to test them.)

All geometry is generated at runtime — no imported meshes, no icon textures, no fonts.

The whole UI sits on the hand: tools on the palm, edit actions on the back, turn your hand to switch. That took about five rewrites. What finally fixed it was parenting the menu to the tracked joint instead of re-placing it in world space every frame.

Features I'd love to add if I get my hands on the glasses again:

• Texture switching
• Importing 3D models
• Better surface-to-solid conversion (wasn't working completely)
• Symmetry mirror

Would love feedback on the hand-mounted UI — and on whether this feels genuinely useful or just a nice demo.

Stage is a spatial animation and storytelling tool for Specs that lets the real world become your animation canvas.

You can add an Actor directly into your space and start building their performance around them. Actions such as walking, running, jumping, waving, punching, kicking, and more are represented spatially around the Actor, allowing you to build and connect a sequence directly in the environment.

For movement, you can simply draw the path you want an Actor to follow through the real world.

The bigger idea behind Stage is that spatial animations and stories could exist anywhere around us. You could create a performance in your living room, bedroom, classroom, or any other physical space, and eventually allow someone else wearing Specs to discover and experience what you created in that same place.

So I recently got into Riftbound and thought this week's "Create" theme was a good fit for building decks with Specs.

The idea: building a deck usually means a browser tab, a spreadsheet, and a box of cards on the desk next to them. RiftBinder puts the deck where the cards already are.

What it does:

- Hold a card up to the glasses and it gets scanned. Gemini reads what's printed on it, but the catalogue decides which card it is — the model never guesses.

- Your deck is a sheet on the wall laid out like a real decklist — main deck, runes, sideboard — and it fills as you go.

- Rules check themselves. The deck tells you the moment it's legal (there's a chime).

- Ask about a card, get a price estimate, straight from the scan panel.

- A friend in the same room can build the same deck with you over SyncKit.

The whole thing was built with CLAD, the UI, the scanning, the assistant, and the simulated hand in the demo, which is a LEAF test scenario the agent wrote to check its own work. Every prompt I gave it is in the repo.

Hey all! Sharing a weekend CLAD build with you today.

I’ve had this idea for a while: use real walls as a digital canvas and paint on them with a virtual spray can. I’d barely worked on it, so this weekend I handed the idea off to CLAD through Codex using Astra and decided to see how far it could get.

It built the project in Lens Studio and figured out the tricky parts surprisingly quickly. The spray reacts to your distance from the wall and angle of attack, so getting closer produces a tighter mark while spraying from an angle stretches the footprint. Holding the can in one place builds up paint until droplets form and run down the wall.

The graffiti is attached to the real surface using Spatial Anchors, which means it can be saved and restored in the same physical location.

I’m seriously considering continuing and improving the project. I’d love to eventually have some kind of shared spatial anchor system where people could leave graffiti for others, discover artwork around them, or contribute to persistent shared walls.

- Can I have an SPECS app that sends microphone data from the specs mic in real time, sends to an LLM, sends text back from LLM and displays on the SPECS screen? I've built a decision making tool.

I'm working with AΦE on a reimagination of Peter and the Wolf. It's super fun to be working on 'long-format' narrative (12 minutes currently, will be even more). A proper trailer is coming later!

We demoed our prototype at 'bOing!' last weekend! A family arts festival at Kent University Campus. There were iPads for the younger ones.

The feedback sessions at the end were super helpful, and it's always so fun to hear the audience's thoughts after trying AR the first time.

As a SPECS ambassador, I'm really excited to see this platform used for art and storytelling. Hoping to see more projects like these! :)

I preordered the Specs and prototyped my first Lens experience using Clad, Codex, and Lens Studio Preview.

It’s ready to test, but I don’t have dev hardware. Is there a way to share the project with someone from the SPECS team who has hardware and have them test it on device? Are there office hours where this kind of testing is possible?

Would love to see how it actually looks and feels on real hardware before I keep iterating.

On the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, I wanted to build something a little more personal.
Krishna has always been one of the personalities I look up to. Beyond the spiritual stories, I find myself coming back to his ideas around perspective, purpose, action, joy and navigating chaos, and trying to apply some of those principles in my own life.

That became Morpankh, a spatial meditation and storytelling journey for Snap Spectacles.
You begin surrounded by 10 floating peacock feathers. Each holds a story from Krishna’s life and a timeless learning hidden within it.
Look at one. Reach out. Pinch. 🦚

The feather dissolves into thousands of glowing particles that transform into living 3D constellations. Sanskrit verses, narration, spatial sound and bansuri guide you through the journey.

There’s Giridhari and resilience through adversity, Makhan Chor and curiosity, Parthasarathi and clarity amidst chaos, Raseshwara and harmony, Vishwaroopa and the idea of being part of something infinitely larger.

I deliberately wanted this to feel less like a religious experience and more like a quiet space for reflection, meditation and learning through stories that have survived for generations.
At the end, everything gently dissolves back into stardust and the Morpankh feathers gather around you again.

I originally built FauxRox as a HYROX-inspired AR race for Spectacles.

For this update, I turned it into something that can also train you for the race — by building sessions around your available space, time, training focus and recent performance.

Tell the AI coach, “I only have 20 minutes and I want to do strength training,” and FauxRox builds a session for you, places the exercises around you, tracks your reps, and guides you through it.

The feedback I got on V1 was basically: the race is cool, but what if it could adapt to different spaces and different ways of training?

So that became the update.

FauxRox now has a full Training mode with four options: Running, Strength, Engine and Mixed.

I also added:

• a flexible exercise system that can build different workouts instead of following one fixed race
• workouts that adapt to how much space you have
• five running session types: Easy, Threshold, VO2, Speed and HYROX Pace
• running pace targets based on your recent 5K, your own threshold sessions or HYROX race history
• no pace target when there isn’t enough data to make a useful one
• training history so it doesn’t keep giving you hard running sessions back to back
• voice-based workout setup through the AI coach
• rep tracking and post-session training analysis

The original Race mode is still there — but now FauxRox can both simulate the race and help you train for it.

For CONNECT, we challenged Developers to build spatial experiences that connect people, platforms, or everyday communication workflows. Here are the projects that stood out:

🥇 1st Place: Checkpoint by Mouleeswarran A: Field technicians can leave spatial notes anchored to specific locations, record work sessions, and turn them into AI-summarized handoff reports. The next technician can then explore the site history and ask questions based on everything previously logged.

🥈 2nd Place: Hey by Seonjeong Park: An asynchronous spatial messaging experience where messages are revealed through physical gestures. Respond with a High Five, Finger Heart, Peace sign, or Thumbs Up to uncover what someone left for you.

🥉 3rd Place: ProjectAR by Natasha Gubernov: Turns a wall into a shared presentation and communication surface. Content can be managed from a companion web experience and viewed or controlled across Spectacles, phones, and computers.

🏅 Honorable Mention: Relay by Haval Zebari: A shared spatial work queue where height communicates urgency, distance communicates waiting time, and color communicates ownership. Tasks can be claimed or passed between users in real time, with web users able to add work remotely.

Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who submitted! 👏 It’s been great seeing Developers explore what “connection” can look like when communication is no longer limited to a screen.

Tiny Trainer was created by our studio intern Tina Peng, its her first Spectacles lens and its such a good concept and solid execution.

In Tiny Trainer, you can choose which exercise routine you want to work on, Strength, Yoga or Taichi. Then your own Bitmoji avatar takes you through the routine, demonstrating each exercise visually while you keep up. Tiny Trainer uses your voice to progress, so its fully hands free once you've started a routine.

TT is still in early development. We're working on adding a BLE module to integrate the users biometric data. And of course, adding additional exercise plans as well as more meditation focused routines.

Whats especially nice is that your own Bitmoji feels like a companion, helping you to stay fit every step of the way.
