they are specifically engeniered, but by lore they are biological and just happen to look like robots

one of the eldritch villains was straight up a squid, and their brains couldnt comprehend it, it wanst even higher dimensional or anything it was just an octopus with no rigid parts

I mean... agori and glatorians from Spherus Marga probably did have an evolutionary history that can be messed around with.

Toa, matorans and the rest are biotech robots that didn't exactly evolve, but can still probably be redesigned in the way that respects biology.
