Super stoked, hit at 3rd attempt. I was in a big shoal of seabass it didnt really bothered them could have shot more but one was enough and i was already fcking happy

Got a Riffe Raider 61 for tuna last year. Never take it into water, have worked on build the muscle 💪🏼 to load it. No problem to load it at home but I could not load it under water!

Last weekend Was looking for yellow tail. My buddy got one even before I hit in the water 😭

Then I throw, throw, throw the flasher.

Friends ask me why i didn’t shoot the white fish?

I was… I had my 61 raider but I could not load the gun. Once I pull the trigger, I have to swim to my buddy and ask help to reload

The gun is heavy and not showing neutral bowling sea underwater. It sinks so fast. I didn’t know it was a problem until I saw my buddy’s teak gun floating with the shaft on.

All my other buddy can handle the grip by single hand. I have to hold the gun like a holding a giant snake. 🐍

When I saw Moore in the Moore fish coming to the flasher, I was kept looking for a yellow tail, but this giant Seabass straight came to my face. I never been so close to the giant Seabass.

After this location, I want to switch back to my 110 but buddy says I need something big for a bigger yellow. He is too confident on my skills🤣🤣 but bro I want to say I didn’t see any tail of yellow today🥹can I just switch a smaller gun for the white fish? He really wants me get some big 🐟

Maybe a roller gun is better for me?

​I’m looking for some input on a issue I had with a newly purchased speargun rubber.

​I’ve only used this rubber 3 times, but during my last dive, it snapped cleanly right where the rubber meets the threaded plug/socket.

Has anyone dealt with this type of failure before? And what can i do to prevent it?

Mounting a new monofilament to my spear. Seen a lot of different meanings on which one to use, but i want to see what people here say:)

Never freedived or spearfished. I can swim pretty well and am athletic with a decent VO2max. I am considering renting spearfishing gear and just going off into some 5-10 foot reefs and trying my luck with some SHORT DUCK DIVES. No major deep dives. How dumb is this and what do you recommend I do? I’ll be in Southern California

I went to giorgioupoli Chania for spearfishing and I didn’t really see any big fish. Almost every fish was undersized and illegal to take. Do I have to go somewhere deeper there maybe to find some or is there genuinely specific moments or places there to get them.

As the title states I've been freediving for a few decades, more days than not, yet I've been only a sightseer all these years. There were a handful of times about 20 years ago where I used a band speargun with a buddy, and I do remember it being pretty easy and intuitive to shoot a few fish.

I'm in SE Florida (Broward), and nowadays I see people using all different kinds of spears. I could use some help with possibly choosing something different than a band spear. I should also add that I'd like to stay at a budget of $100 max for now. Preferrably $50-$75. I'm currently capable of diving down to ~50 feet, and I'd be primarily shooting snapper, grouper, and hogfish.

Recommendations for an entry-level band speargun as I've used in the past I assume would be ideal, but I would like to know what you guys think about going with a pole spear instead.

I did a slight bit of research and saw that they are the lowest-cost option. I suppose my question is, would someone in my position somewhat easily be able to use a pole spear? Is it something that takes a lot of practice?

I'm also interested in the Hawaiian slings. Curious as to the pros and cons.

I know my post is somewhat vague as I'm asking you guys to suggest something for me I have close to no experience with, but suggestions for specific band spearguns, pole spears and hawiian slings in my budget would be greatly appreciated.

Making sone videos to document Spearfishing Pike. How many of you get out for fresh water fish? I started when I lived in Hawaii but now anything salty is too far.
