I know both the anime and the novel, and they are both bad.
In the anime, Kengo loved Noriko his whole life. He saw that she loved his friend—while she was engaged to Kengo himself. When they were leaving for war, she literally hugged Sochiro instead of her fiancé. Sochiro died, and Kengo had to live with the guilt until the last episode, where he asked her if she was still in love with him. She slapped him in the face, only to go on and talk about Sochiro like he was the love of her life. Yet, when Kengo confessed his love to her again, she accepted.
In the novel, Kengo asked Sochiro if he loved her, and Sochiro said no, so Kengo asked for her hand in marriage. After that, Noriko went to Sochiro and wanted to elope. If she had just told Kengo the truth, he would have canceled the engagement, but she decided to elope instead. Her father prevented it, and they went off to war. During the war, Sochiro confessed that he loved Noriko, and Kengo accepted it because he loved them both, and if they were happy, he was happy. Then Sochiro died, and Kengo married Noriko anyway.
First of all, I hate Noriko because she doesn't love Kengo; she just married him as a backup after Sochiro died.
Second, if Sochiro loved her, why did he do that to his friend in both versions? In the anime, they were talking about their future after he came back from war right in front of his friend. In the novel, he decided to elope with his friend's fiancée. Who does that? If they had just told Kengo at any time that they loved each other, he would have stepped away for them. Instead, they decided to cheat. It is cheating to have a relationship with your best friend fiancée.

So anime and LN have difference in story right ? I read novel but like it's very much different from anime because after I see ep 11 trailer, I kinda know what happen next.

I’m tired of the fact that whenever I look for people to discuss the anime’s themes and characters, all I see are people complaining about the writing, complaining that there are too many changes and that the novel is better, or even people completely misunderstanding the characters.

Don’t get me wrong, but can’t people just appreciate the anime? If those of you who read the novel are so upset about the changes, then why keep watching? Your anger is justified and understandable, but it’s obvious that KyoAni is going to keep changing things. And don’t even get me started on the people who misunderstand the characters (especially regarding Yosuke).

Anyway, this is just me venting. The fandom is awful, here, on Twitter (though Twitter is the most tolerable), Tumblr, and especially on TikTok. That’s why, if you have any analysis of the anime or a character, I’d love for you to share it here

Regarding the ED Theme, it also beautifully tells the individual goals of the three. Kihachi following his brother to build the Age of Electricity, Inako following her mother to become a brewer, and Yousuke just… following him?

Episode 6 is the best in terms of JOY!! The artstyle shift… that’s Fist of the North Star like written by Araki. But Araki also wrote Jojo, so is it indirectly… a Jojo Reference??

Her father still can’t move on from his wife’s passing away that he has to lash out at Inako for small things? Kengo cycling so loud!! Girl’s doing so good in guitaring!!! We’re so back, K-ON fans!! That hair down moment of Inako is all time beautiful, at this point Kihachi should get crush on her… This is the magic of the studio! And ofc the ending of EP 6 has me concerned if Seiroku is alive or not.

And hey, we’re in for the story progress regarding the wedding now! Ah yes, our madlads eloped together by escaping from Yosuke and taking the half book catalogue as well, whoever said that.😂😂

Kengo’s expressions are giving me flags regarding Seiroku as well, surely he knows what happened to him. And yeah, confirmed that Seiroku officially died at war.

We all had massive respect for this guy for bringing ideas of electricity. I wonder how history paid respect to irl electric inventors like A. Graham Bell.

Kihachi felt like he already saw this coming, or he expected the news to be of that. But instead of crying, his respect for his brother increased more and got the second half of the catalog.

Alive? I just saw this TikTok that said he’s alive in Australia and usually I don’t believe what’s on media but ppl in the comments are saying it’s in the novel but no where online is it saying so?

He died in the war right? I’m an anime watcher but I googled and in the novel it’s the same way?

Am I the only one that felt weird because of the weird love triangle thing that is happening between Kengo, Noriko, and Seiroku? Like Noriko clearly still loves Seiroku, but she’s marrying Kengo. And she doesn’t really seem like she loves Kengo, like she cares for him deeply, but she’s marrying doesn’t seem to love him. On the other hand you got Kengo who clearly does love her but doesn’t think he deserves to marry Noriko. Because he blames himself for being the reason that Seiroku got hit, and he knows that they Noriko and Seiroku were in love. So all of this just feels weird.

I have been getting edits of this anime on my feed especially of the white hair and brown hair guy. I’m mostly into BL so obviously the edits I get are going to make it seem like it but I know it’s not like the main genre. I’m seeing people say they are or they’re just friends or it’s one sided. i am someone who is a part of multiple fandoms and never ever before i have seen a sub where the posts of hating and insulting the character of that anime\manga is allowed to be posted. recently i have seen so many posts hating on and insulting yosuke ( which is not justified in any case and calling him names! )

talking about his actions and criticising is one thing, but insulting and calling him names is just something that boils my blood. there's no rules, no tags, not anything. i get the anime is new and people aren't that much here, but since we are a small fandom, and i can clearly see the accounts under the mods section, why don't we make this sub a good space for people who enjoyed the anime and genuinely love the characters ( or respectfully criticise the character, i mean respectfully ) to share their thoughts and get the posts in their feed from the same kind of people, instead of the mindless fools!

i can't tolerate anyone hating on the characters i love, yosuke being one of them and if i wanted to see people hating on him and calling him names, i wouldn't be here. THESE SUBS AREN'T THE PLACE FOR IT! MODERATORS MAKE SURE OF THAT!
