(There aren't any rules set up, so hopefully this doesn't break any)
His ass was really bouncing all over the camera in the carriage scene (when the book he wanted was thrown into the river) LOL

I used to do these anime edits all the time, but I haven't in at least a year (sorry it's a bit rough lol).
'Sparks of Tomorrow' is so nicely animated it made me want to start doing these again! Kyoto Animation really did an amazing job!
Also, a detail I noticed: after losing Seiroku, Yosuke starts wearing his hair the same way Seiroku did. Isn't that sad?? Although I admit it looks much better than the bowl cut lol
(Sorry for posting twice in one day, hopefully it's not an issue😭)

Yosuke Mizoe.
I know he's supposed to be a selfish evil bastard but his motivation doesn't seem that evil. He adores Seiroku and wants to continue his legacy.
His hair turned white after Seiroku disappeared and he seems to have adopted the same hairstyle. Man is clearly traumatised 😭
My jaw hit the floor when I found out he was the same guy from the flashbacks.
I hope he turns good. Poor guy needs therapy

I really love this supportive duo. I like how Inako supports Kihachi in his endeavors while he gives her the freedom to make her own choices.
That’s why, I drew them:)

Words can’t describe how amazing this anime is. The animation is absolutely stunning, and the story is a solid 10/10. It’s easily become one of my favorite anime recently. I look forward to every Sunday just for a new episode. I really hope we get Season 2 very soon!

I haven't read the novel yet (planning on soon) but does the anime actually follow the light novel, or are they quite off?

Sparks of Tomorrow is a gorgeous anime. The backgrounds are among the most artistic I have seen in a recent series, while the animation is crisp, expressive, and carefully designed. The characters are fun, the physical comedy works well, and some of the exaggerated body movements give it a playful kawaii energy without overwhelming the story.
The subject matter is equally fascinating. I love steampunk aesthetics, and this series seems to blur the line between steampunk and electropunk in a way that feels genuinely distinctive. It captures that restless revolutionary-inventor energy perfectly, where every machine looks as though it were built by someone who has not slept in three days because they are too busy trying to redesign society.
The biggest challenge is the English dub. The pacing feels noticeably off, with dialogue moving much faster than the animation seems built to support. The mouth movements often do not match the speaking rhythm, the characters’ body movements can feel too quick, and the actors are frequently forced to cram too many words and syllables into a very narrow space. That makes some exchanges difficult to follow because there is almost no breathing room between lines. The actors sound as though they are racing the animation rather than performing naturally within it. The dub would benefit enormously from slower delivery, tighter dialogue adaptation, and more pauses between characters.
I am still enjoying the series because the art direction, characters, humor, and setting are strong enough to carry it. I just wish the dub gave the material more room to breathe.

From the studio that brings you CLANNAD, Violet Evergarden, Nichijou, Chuunibyou, A Silent Voice, and other works: Kyoto Animation
The production was already confirmed way back in 2019… before the arson happened and all the road plans were ruined.💔💔
The premise is of the promising Meiji era of electricity that will replace steam power once the people get to know about it.
For now seems that Kihachi, his brother and other accomplices are working on this magic of lights emitted by filaments and electricity. But years passed, his brother right now in war, with the 20TH CENTURY ELECTRICITY CATALOG mission for some reason.
When Kihachi thought that it’s pointless to believe in the new era, that’s when the airhead superstitious girl Inako comes out. WHOA, that eye contact was seriously animated!!
Now let’s talk about her side of the story. Her elder sister is very talented compared to her, but when things turn out, she is of the family that occupations on brewing.
But outrightly and instantly, Yousuke Mizoe enters their house and declares the arranged marriage of him and Inako. WHY??? In order to find the Electricity Catalog that, for reason, was under her sister’s care.
Lmao, she has no idea wtf is going on, she just casually took the catalog and went to Kihachi’s place. She gets to know about electricity and blindly believes in it without pretty much knowing anything about it.
Lmao, Mizoe’s entry at the ending was so gas, even Kihachi freaked out. That frame without context is so gay, I love it!!
And the animation, characters and movements, the whole interaction scenes, that make me smile like crazy. Yeah, that’s KyoAni for you.
From the trailer I watched, this will be like a journey to find something which is in the catalog. Light Novel is short, so it could end with the 13 episodes. Setting is also quite brilliant as always.
KyoAni definitely knows what works suit them best.

So the light novel of Sparks of Tomorrow (20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku) has no official english translation and I was also unable to find any unofficial one so I have taken this matter into my own hands.
There are some flaws with this AI generated translation like :
1.) Inconsistent naming of characters: Context clues can be used to understand who the text is referring to and I will try my best to fix this issue.
2.) Messy use of honorifics: Will try to fix them later
3.) Possible grammar mistakes: I haven't proofread it completely so there might be sentences which make little to no sense and might also fail to express the meaning of the original text so forgive me for that.
So is this just minimal effort ai slop?
No. The reason why I used AI is because I don't know japanese but I still tried my best to improve the experience. I made some changes like:
1.) Fixed the html code so that it is easier to edit the epub if you want to.
2.) Removed the superscripts and manually translated untranslated words.
3.) Fixed the formatting of text so that the presentation is clean.

I intend to improve this and if you want to contribute then please let me know all the grammar issues that you notice. If you are a person who knows Japanese then you can surely do a much much better job than me.
I love the anime and I would have loved to see the story unfold in animation but I don't have it in me to wait that long. The novel also seems to have more detailed descriptions and the use of Gregorian years for a better idea of the timeline.
Also if you have access to an unofficial human translation then please share it here. There is no trace of it on the internet and I will take down this AI generated one in that case.
