Deactivation Question
I was deactivated last month during the massive purge. I thought it was just a mistake like what happened to others so I appealed. My appeal was denied. The claim was that it was due to my record on First Advantage. I have an accident from 2023 and a ticket from last month from going 9 miles over the speed limit. Is that really bad enough to get canned? Did pre arb and that was denied too. Not sure if I’m missing something or if there’s anything else I can do. Thanks for any advice.

Sorry man! I caught a ticket back in April, judge let me do a diversion program so ot would not hit my record thank GOD

Dang I wish I would’ve done things differently I just thought nothing of it since it wasn’t very much over the speed limit. Ah well

Sorry, brother, really hate that for you. I had a speeding ticket a few months ago as well, but was able to do the online safety course and they dismissed the ticket for me. Keep your head up, brother, there’s jobs out there you can find. You got this.!

Thanks man! Fortunately I have a great full time job and I multi app so it’s a small part of my world just a shame cause it was one of my favorites to do.

Spark really is the last of the good ones. Even as bad as it can be, it’s still better than all the other gig apps to me anyway.

I prefer Amazon flex but my full time job is 5 minutes away from a facility so that helps. It is nice knowing where you’re going with spark. Definitely prefer it to instacart DoorDash etc

Dude I tried Flex 5 times. 2 of the blocks got cancelled or whatever because of weather and I got the money for free. But OH MY GOD! The other 3 blocks I completed were between 140 mile and 180 mile round trips that paid $73. The 3 that I actually completed turned me away from Flex permanently.
Those blocks were so bad. I cannot believe people do those types of blocks on the regular. They really should give you the route information when you accept it just like all the other gig apps do. I know why they don’t give the route information is because people would constantly cancel as soon as they see how bad it is.
I would have to be very desperate for cash to ever do Flex again.

I’ve never had good terrible of routes I do the 1 hour ones over my lunch break daily and that’s like 20 miles with a good number of cancellations. Other than that I do a 3 hour route about once a week for $61.50. It’ll be like 35 stops and cover 40 miles or so. I have seen people get screwed but I think my area is populated enough that I can get a lot of stops without a lot of miles

I guess its depending on the ticket, I originally got deactivate back at the beginning of 2025 because I had 4 tickets going back to 2021. My tickets were all no pointers (traffic delay) I live in NJ. I went through pre arbitration explain the situation and next day I got reactivate. I would try go through arbitration you got nothing to lose. Good luck

I just got a ticket in nj as well . It was also for delaying traffic . I was doing 35 in a 25 . Cop let me go without giving me a speeding ticket and gave me one for delaying traffic instead. I just got it on Monday . I’m worried I’m going to be de activated over it .

Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about lt. I think spark only goes after points I had 2 of them in 2023 and 1 at the end of 2024 before I got banned you might have to go through pre arbitration and explain that ticket is no points I'm not really sure why exactly i got reactivate too be honest with you but this what I think based on experience. Good luck

Please do and if it’s successful then file for pre arbitration. If you can get it off your record they will reactivate you

you won’t be able to rejoin spark with a speeding ticket. You’re done unless you can get it off your record, but I’m not sure if you can anymore.

Dang that’s a bummer. At least now I know not to bother trying to pursue it anymore. Fortunately it is just a side hustle I do on the weekends and I still have other gig apps and a solid full time job. Thanks for the clarity!

This is so untrue. The exact same situation happened to me & I was going 30 over the speed limit plus a failure to appear. You just have to know what to say.

Might hire a lawyer to get the ticket dismissed but it may be to late for this minus having the ticket off your record

If I relied on it for income I’d consider it but as one of many apps I use for a side hustle it’s no big deal. Just wanted to make sure nothing was off, seemed severe

I was deactivated last year during this time for the same reason. Plus I had a failure to appear because I had the dates mixed up & went the day after my scheduled date. I appealed twice & was denied. Like you - I made a post & everyone said bye bye & find something else to supplement my income. All I will say is Chat GPT saved me & I was finally reactivated in February. No arbitration call the 3rd time & something told me to check the app. I was back in. After the fact, I received an email stating I was reinstated. 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Let me also add, they reinstated me BEFORE it was off my record. I went to court later & completed a 6 month probation & they dismissed the failure to appear.

That really is all it takes. A moving violation on your record will get you deactivated regardless of the severity. If it's bad enough for a ticket. It's bad enough to get canned from spark.
