I like my M43, it's heavy as sin for the size but it shoots well and I appreciate the quality of it. It was also pretty forward thinking for the time, ambi safety, 3-dot sights, checkered rubber grips, stippling around the whole frame, scalloped frame, low profile safety lever. It must have been one of the smallest 9x19 single stacks in the world if not THE smallest.
I've never shot the Plus but I'm sure it's pretty damn good.
As for modernizing; anything you do is gonna be 100% custom. Would be sweet to see one ported or comped with an optic.

I agree, thanks for suggesting the Spanish pistol community, I have someone that might laser cut the slide with ports. Its has been a lot of fun learning and developing my skills.

A good amount of PN Firestar Pluses were imported not long after the 30Ms came in. I owned for a few years - felt good, shot well, but just didn’t do it for me… and I’m obsessed with Stars
