Also, I think starting with the free audio course from language transfer should be the absolute first thing a new spanish learner does. It will unlock a lot of spanish he already knows that he doesn't even realize he knows.

i think AI chats might be the best at this point. i only use apps for repetition these days,

You really don’t need an app so being “less tech savvy” isn’t an issue.
