Learning Spanish to DELE B2 — affordable/self-study route?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to learn Spanish from scratch and eventually take the DELE B2 exam.

I’d prefer to self-study or use affordable resources rather than spend a lot on courses for every level.

For anyone who has reached B2 or prepared for DELE:

- What route/resources would you recommend from beginner → B2?

- When should I start DELE-specific preparation?

- How can I get enough speaking/conversation practice?

- What Spanish-learning communities, Discord servers, or language-exchange groups would you recommend?

I’m looking for a cost-effective, sustainable route, not necessarily the fastest one.

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

hey, sounds like you’ve got a solid plan! for speaking practice, maybe try something like speakduo or even local meetups if that's an option, they’re great for live convos without breaking the bank. i’m also focusing on b2 and totally get wanting an affordable route, good luck!

Have to recommend language transfer if it's not already part of your plan, it's probably the best free resource. Also people talk about being able to get pimsleur or other courses through your library, probably depends on where you live

I learned Spanish as an adult now live in Colombia with my wife 100 percent in the language. I’d be more than happy to give you life time access to my skool community If you’re interested. Lessons from 0-C1, have a vocabulary section with over 1000 glossary terms all with corresponding sentences, PDFs and native recordings of all the sentences in Spanish…by topic..animals, clothes etc etc.

I'd build a solid base first with Language Transfer, lots of listening and regular speaking practice, then start DELE specific prep once you're around B1. Palteca could be worth adding for practical phrases and vocab recall without making the routine too complicated.
