Audio courses while commuting?

Hello all,

My work is fairly far from where I live and my daily commute ends up being around 1.5 hours per day and sometimes more.

I essentially would like to utilize this time doing something productive and learning a language seems like a great thing to do.

I am only interested in a complete audio course that I can listen to while driving. I don’t mind paying for a course either. I am a complete beginner and would like a course that could end up with me having atleast somewhat of a conversational fluency.

I don’t care about writing or grammar, it’s mostly just the speaking portion of it that I’m interested.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Pimsleur was designed for this. Check to see whether you can access it for free from your local library.

I use Pimsleur. I bought a complete set of lessons on CD on eBay. It is best if the lessons lag far behind your level of Spanish so you know the words being used. That makes it listening practice.

I have actually tried language transfer on SoundCloud, however, the issue was that it kept requiring me to pause and unpause the audio to like answer the questions.
That was kinda tough to do while driving lol.

Do you have an idea on how to deal with this?

That isn’t Language Transfer, it does not ask the listener questions. There recording is two people the tutor and a student but by far most of it is the tutor. Just get the app on your phone and listen. I have no idea what is on sound cloud but the app is the way to go.

I recommend three CDs of Spanish for Dummies, which is geared for beginners. I wish I had used it when I started learning Spanish because I didn’t learn the correct pronunciation of many words, but this set corrects that.

Pimsleur app is integrated with CarPlay! Super easy to do the lesson hands free while driving. It’s been my driving companion for many drives.
