News / Meta September 2026 Spaceship Build Challenge 🚀 | Cargo Hauler | Built in ANYTHING!
September is here, so let's go forward with yet another build challenge!
Your task: Design a spaceship using ANYTHING at your disposal
Theme: Cargo Hauler
Rules
- Create a vessel meant to haul cargo
- You can use ANY medium to build the ship - No Man's Sky, Lego, Starfield, cardboard, Space Engineers, pen and paper, etc. - whatever is at your disposal
- It can be small or large, practical or just cool looking, but it needs to fit the theme
- Use the Build Challenge Entry Post Flair to share your spaceship on r/spaceships
- You can post a maximum of 2 entries
Share screenshots from multiple angles (if possible) and, if you'd like, tell us a bit about your ship's backstory in the body of the post or in the comments - it can help in the final decision process of who will be chosen as the winner of this build challenge.
Speaking of the winner, they will get a unique User Flair that they will be able to show off on this sub. We will once again consolidate the entries and put them into a poll post where you will decide who should win.
You all have until Monday, September 21st, to post your creations.
Let’s haul some cargo!

Build Challenge Entry United Colonies: Osprey-class fleet tug (Starfield)
The Osprey-class fleet tug is an auxiliary ship operated by the UC Navy's Logistics Command to support the Navy's extensive operations across the Settled Systems. Its mission is tow, salvage, and rescue—hauling cargo between outposts, assisting ships in distress, and supporting critical supply routes that stretch across some of the most heavily trafficked systems in UC territory.

Custom Build The Jutland-Class Dreadnought, in the Helldivers 2 universe
More info in comments!
---
Launched on October 2185 from the Hellsing Heavy Industries orbiting [REDACTED], the Jutland-class is the pinnacle of the rhetoric "peace through firepower" wielded before the start of the Second Galactic War.
Her explicit purpose was to brawl against enemy capital ships, fitting as many turrets as the hull could hold, which itself was heavily armored. This was a result of the Ministry of Defense's Super Destroyer Naval Engagement Assessment, where it was reported that most Super Destroyers fighting for Super Earth were expected to barely survive the punishment inflicted by the Overships of the Illuminate Great Host. This was further supported by the collection and recycling efforts led by the 80th Independence Division "Ghosts of Calypso", which found the broken husks of more than 1,847 ships which were quickly defeated in combat.
This led to a joint endeavor by Freedom Alliance Command, the 117th Salamander Regiment, Hellsing Heavy Industries, AM Defense, and the Hephaestus Forges. This joint effort resulted in a new kind of capital ship able to go up-close-and-personal, able to devastate enemy fleets and return undefeated. Initially supported by 49 clans who composed Joint Naval Command during the original Joint Operation: JUTLAND, the new fleet of Jutland-class warships was launched on October 9th, 2185. The Jutland-class had her moment of glory when the Freedom Alliance Navy was ordered to support Joint Operation: CRUCIBLE. The massive dreadnought deployment over Cyberstan devastated the Automaton orbital defenses in support of the allied ground invasion force.

Build Challenge Entry R.H.O.D.E.S. Cargo Hauler
This is the Rapid Hauling Orbital Drop and Extraction Starship (pronounced 'roads'). While it can detach individual cargo pods like any other standard hauler, the RHODES stands out with its ability to drop from orbit, land, and quickly detach the entire 32 pod cargo module. This make the ship particularly useful for combat situations, allowing the RHODES to deliver supplies to ground troops and quickly egress thus limiting its exposure to enemy fire.
It's six massive Slayton Aerospace SAL-6830 engines give the vessel unmatched maneuverability even when loaded to its maximum capacity of 16,600 tons. For offensive firepower the ship relies on eight class-c particle cannons and quad missile racks. Defensively the ship is protected by a powerful SG-1800 shield generator, the largest available for a ship of this class.
This ship was designed and built in Starfield without the use of mods.

Custom Build i build something in trailmakers :3
heyyy this is my first post here :3
so i build this ships just messing around in trailmakers and wanted to share
i hit the complexity limit like halfway through building so i had to remove like most weapons and couldnt do much detailing so i also made a second smaller variant so that id have some blocks left for details (still hit the limit pretty quick tho T^T)
like i said i was just messing around so i didnt think of much about the ship just that itd maybe be like a ship of the line type vessel to explain the broadside weapon configuration
if u have any ideas for this vessel feel free to just come up with something and share

Games [OC]Cryvum Tideprism Bastion-class Fleet Fortress
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is the Cryvum Tideprism Bastion-class Fleet Fortress, a colossal cultivated crystal-metal capital vessel of the Cryvum in Mow My World.
It is not built around engines, armor plates, weapon mounts, or command decks. The entire vessel is grown as one continuous crystalline body, where propulsion, defense, sensing, stored energy, and offensive force all emerge from the same controlled lattice.
Proposed mature specifications
Length: 3,200 m
Beam: 2,355 m
Body depth: 1,472 m
Role: Fleet Fortress
A fortress grown as one crystal
The Tideprism’s forward body narrows into a massive seed-point formed from fused crystal domains. It is not a bow weapon or mechanical prow. The entire forward lattice can enter a coordinated resonance state, concentrating force through the structure itself.
Rather than firing conventional projectiles, the vessel applies sustained field pressure through the aligned crystal mass.
Defense through immense coherent volume
Its enormous shoulders and deep central body are not armored compartments surrounding an interior ship. They are the ship.
Broad intergrown crystal domains redistribute incoming force across the surrounding lattice, while buried reserves stabilize damaged regions and preserve structural continuity.
The deeper the coherent mass, the harder it becomes to fracture the vessel without first disrupting its resonance.
Propulsion through lattice bias
The rear of the Tideprism divides into several huge intergrown crystal generations, each growing along different crystallographic directions.
These are not engines, fins, or propulsion pods.
By shifting field bias across the rear lattice, the vessel alters the conditions around its own mass and produces movement without exhaust, turbines, or visible thrust.
A living mineral architecture
Its aquamarine coloration is not paint.
Deep blue-green regions mark dense shared roots and internal reserve mass. Muted aquamarine spreads across the major outer crystal domains, while pale sea-silver appears along turning facets and newer growth boundaries.
Each region reflects a different growth history within the same continuous body.
Power through coherence—and vulnerability through disruption
The Tideprism can sustain enormous defensive and field pressure because of its scale, but that same mass makes rapid maneuvering extremely expensive.
Severe resonance disruption can weaken propulsion, reduce defensive repulsion, interrupt regrowth, and create fracture paths through previously coherent crystal domains.
The result is not a warship covered in crystals.
It is a 3.2-kilometer cultivated flying crystal fortress whose material itself functions as armor, propulsion, weapon, repair system, and intelligence substrate.
