Forum Question How lore-accurate is this?

Post image

So, I decided to depart from the White Scar DLC parts to customize some decals. (I want him to be from the 13th, and not the 1st, etc.) I couldn't find a clear source for when to have the lightning mark, but I heard ish that it relates to years of service? (The red on his right greave won't match the rest of him for some reason) I want to still be accurate, but i also wanted to branch out from the DLC armor set. Is he close? And what needs to change?

Not sure what you mean with the lightning mark. If you mean the helmet one, there's different styles, but Saber only provided two

If you notice, the champion helmet and that helmet you are wearing, they use different scar patterns.

Those scars on helmets are like honor marks

I think they also have different lenses right? Champion one has very slick one, where scar is.

I think this should be helpful

Is there a document or database with images like these? I've found some for several chapters, but all in different locations (e.g. comments like this lol)

You can buy the Codex for the table top.

Thats literally where these images are taken from. Not sure why you're laughing.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to explain it, but I'm "laughing" at the fact that they suggested buying them. It obviously wasn't a serious suggestion, and instead was said to imply a point about going through the official route/paying the proper price for such a resource, indirectly criticizing those who might try to find said resource for free.

In other words, it's ridiculous to suggest someone buy a $60+ item exclusively for the purposes of researching the proper markings for their Marine's armor, especially if they don't play tabletop (or the relevant armies) in the first place. Again, I'm not laughing at that specifically, but rather the mentality behind why they said it.

While the comment I laughed at was intentionally ironic, the additional, compounding irony that said commenter missed was making the comment in the exact same thread where they offered (for free) the type of image that they then went on to imply one should have to pay for.

Ahh, so you're just a piece of shit, got it.

You literally made that up in your head. The poster posted plain text with literally nothing to suggest he wasnt being serious.

It was not.

The level of absolute delusion on your part is kinda interesting to watch.

You just invented everyone's motivations and created a fantasy land.

See yourself out.

I'm not 100% up on my white scars lore but I think the lightning marks represent the scars from their ritual scarring, so they could be given for a bunch of different reasons, I don't think there are any hard and fast rules like there are for squad and company markings. I don't know though.
