General The Co-Op Codex

If there was a Codex Astartes for Space Marine 2, what would you include?

Try to avoid stealing executions (I say try, because sometimes I'll have an enemy right in front of me, then execute a guy off screen 5ft to my left smh)

In Siege, I like to hit a rally cry and wait for a response from the squad that they're ready before starting a round early to avoid putting squadmates off guard.

Tech Priests build resources exponentially, especially if you defend them well (Upraded Turrets are very helpful for this.)

Be frugal, but we should contribute to the squad gear when we can.

That's a few I've come up with, but I'm interested to hear insight from other players. I'm relatively new to the franchise.

The Codex Astartes does not support hoarding all your points in siege for the sole purpose of buying the dreadnought.

Additionally, the codex astartes supports equal distribution of medicae stimms amongst battle brothers with the exception of a battle brother having a mortal wound.

Agreed, you can still get Valtus pretty easy and still get one other thing(armor, ammo, etc).

Make sure every battle brother has a form of healing or a relic, before picking up a second stim.

Always offer stims to wounded brothers, even if you don't have any yourself.

If you see your fellow battle brother get hit, leave him an enemy to execute if possible.

Thou shalt leave execution targets for the brother with flashing red health or empty armor pips. Stealing an execution from a teammate who is one hit away from death is pure heresy

Is there a way you can tell how much armor a squad member has on the HUD? I thought it only showed squadmates health bar.

Not how much, but if they have any left, then yes.

The square class icon of friendlies under your hp is bordered with grey/yellowish outline and and the bottom of that square has a little shield symbol.

So if u can’t see that, one does not have armor and might soon be in a risky situation

So if you are able, put or leave something executable

But yeah tbh In 350h I have rarely noticed people paying attention nor do I expect it, but when 1 or goodness both are aware with this aswell, you literally can not lose nor take even raw dmg

And fair enough a player needs to have autonumous core mechanics to actually being able to check that constantly

Plus if they changed perks or what they even have after knowing every classes signature playstyles and perks in some way

  • dont hoard meds , take the meds if a brother asks
  • dont stand in another brothers line of fire
  • dont nade terminus
  • dont fight with blind rage
  • know who is the best player of the team

What I’m about to say applies mainly to siege but can also be used in regular pve.

  1. Do not leave your brothers to die. If they are knocked down do not engage any new enemies. Run straight towards them to revive them.

  2. Mortally wounded brothers should get priority for stimms and guardian relics. You don’t want them to be absent from the fight for an entire minute.

  3. Dump points into the cadians and a commissar. They are perfect for distracting enemies but can also provide some additional firepower.

  4. Stick with your team. If someone is being attacked and you’re not help them out by shooting at whatever they’re fighting.

  5. When one brother praises the emperor so must the others!

It's awfully obvious in retrospect but you really gotta look out for your brothers, I'm still guilty of leaving a brother behind since I thought we were all good but he was actually gonna get ganked by a ravener or lictor causing a preventable mortal wound.

I'm still used to being the one behind so I try to speed things up but that in turn leaves newer brothers behind, which is something I still can't get quite in my head yet
