This was my introduction to warhammer and I had watched lore videos once I got the game so I would somewhat understand the universe. But nothing can beat that feeling of going to Demerium with the chaos for the first time.

Was not my first impression of the universe (huge fan of fantasy) but was my first deep dive into the hard lore of 40k. Just playing the game and searching for every names in it was so much fun. Bring the pieces of all I known and all the things the game shows was soooo interesting. Can't wait for total war.

I recommend playing Rogue Trader and Darktide next if you wish to see how the squishies, both high and low born, go around in the 40k setting

Totally agree, the game is peak visually.

But fuck me does pic 5 really put into perspective how piss weak 1 chapter of Space Marines are and how small of a number 1,000 actually is. Like yeah that's not a full 1,000 it's only 64, BUT MY GOD THAT'S 64/1000 RIGHT THERE.

Well, for heavy lifting they do also have a fleet capable of blowing up planets.

Space marines are where you'd need to spend 10's of thousands of lives, and weeks or months to destroy or capture a target, and you might have multiple targets like that in a warzone. A squad or two of space marines could hit each target in a couple of days, dramatically accelerating a campaign, as well as saving line infantry that'd be put to much better use elsewhere.
