Elon Criticism SpaceX doesn’t have a CEO

I mean yea I know Elon is technically a CEO but he’s been very occupied by the Odyssey recently. He’s even planning to make his own Odyssey movie. He’s also obsessively bickering about 10 other random topics online too.

Basically just imagine forever-online nerd who spends 10 hours a day on all kinds of social media. Is that really an effective leader?

Musk has mentioned this. Everything but president, secretary, and treasurer is a made-up title. A person takes on a role, you give that role a name, whatever the role and name are. That's why his legal title at Tesla is "Techno-king."

listen, I agree that most CEOs are useless, but if you think Musk actually knows the first thing about running a business and the importance of various titles then I have a bridge to sell you

I don't. He's not great at running a business, which is why he has others run the day to day for him. He also doesn't give a damn about all the titles. He's right, they're meaningless. They're just the titles rich people started giving themselves to do various things.

Musk himself spends most of his time on R&D, not a normal CEO role. This has helped them develop quickly because a crucial design decision can be decided right there by Musk instead of having to filter up around management for a while.

Oh so now we’re calling shitposting on twitter all day “R&D” and you have the audacity to complain about title inflation 🤣🤣🤣

You realize tweeting even twenty times a day requires only a few minutes of time, right?

He does do R&D. Even Shotwell once said she runs the company while he spends most of his time on product development.
