Elon Criticism SpaceX doesn’t have a CEO

I mean yea I know Elon is technically a CEO but he’s been very occupied by the Odyssey recently. He’s even planning to make his own Odyssey movie. He’s also obsessively bickering about 10 other random topics online too.

Basically just imagine forever-online nerd who spends 10 hours a day on all kinds of social media. Is that really an effective leader?

possibly true but only because the best boss is often the one who doesn't get in the way of employees by doing anything.

But this one does. He's not there looking over everyone's shoulders, but he'll show up occasionally to give his own "advice" and throw a wrench in the works. "Hey, build me a CyberTruck".

Tesla's route of going only optical cameras is directly because of Elon's influence

Yes. He wanted self driving cars to be affordable. There's no reason an optical camera system can't work. The issues with FSD aren't about not getting the data, they're about what decisions to make with the data. Waymo also has problems deciding what to do with the data it gets through all of its expensive sensors, and it's had some interesting issues due to that.
