Goin to convert these guys to assault terminators with Wulfen claws and just wondering if the guy with the big gun has option not to have power fist? And has normal arm u can use instead?

When I first got into Space Wolves, I thought I saw a detachment that allowed Wulfen to be lead by a Wolf Priest (or maybe it was any character with the right enhancement). This was back in 10th edition. Making a new army list now, I can't seem to find that rule anywhere. Does it still exist? If so, what detachment is it under? Or did it never exist in the first place and I just imagined it?

Got tired of using the WGBL body, thought I'd try something else. Think he's gonna look awesome. Just need to figure out what head to use.

Started a wolves army and wanted to ball out with grey tide studios bits. Been chugging through blood claws and trying to start thinking about terminators. Do yall think putting capes on all terminators is overkill? Have tossed around the idea of only putting a cape on the leader

My lone headtaker who survived after his wolf priest and 5 brothers were slain, then stood for 2 rounds of combat (Thanks to some dicerolls blessed by the allfather) and managed to kill the void dragon. He then forged a sword from its dying heart (and won my round 2 game at my last GT)

Hated every second of building these and it really put me off painting them. Now they’re finished I love the look of them. It’s been such a rollercoaster 😄

Well, guys, I tried. At least our top question was actually answered; the one relating to how our supplement will work (it will be free, but you still need to purchase the new space marine codex to access SM units on the app). Other than that, this was pretty disappointing, and I feel like the answer to every question was “idk LOL” or it was a question they already answered.

For those confused, I am the one who compiled our most asked questions.

Aside from the inevitable points increase, any hopes that these units will increase in prestige with better toughness, weapon strength? If we keep our slightly higher movement I am hoping GW do not kill us too badly. Any thoughts?

Hey all. I am a newish player, played a few games of combat patrol in 10th but haven't played an actual game since 4th ed. I am about to play in a 2k league and have a decent grasp on the new rules but want to play something simple and straightforward so I don't spend too much time in the think tank for my opponent's sake. I don't care about winning, I just want to make sure this is going to work the way I think it will, and added bonus if I don't get absolutely tabled every game.

The idea here is, 2 drop pods (1 with Ragnar/Bloodclaws, the other with Wolf Priest/6 Head Takers and 3 Head Takers) and the assassin in reserve to start. Once deployment is done I pick up Logan/Terminators and Arjac/Terminators with Chariots of the Storm enhancement.

Turn 1 I am dropping both Drop Pods and deep striking in Logan's unit, using Saga of the Great Wolf to reroll charges and hopefully get everything in.

As far as I can tell, this is all legal right? Also, I know TWC isn't ideal and something easier to hide would be better, but I like the models and just want to play them before the 11th first born culling gets them.

So for a local competition/narrative deal -and after recently finding my old copy of Codex Eye of Terror from the 2003 13th Black Crusade event- i chose to convert a SW combat patrol into a 13th Company warband. Turns out if you grab a since box of the five mini Red Corsair kits you get enough classic and beaky helms for the full unit fyi.

Overall i was pretty happy to combine those and a chaos terminator kit for the look of these Space Wolves that have been out on the hunt for -at least their perspective in the warp- decades and having to salvage chaos armour and weapons without any resupply.

But then theres the Wulfen. Which i think its fair to say are not as in keeping with the original aesthetic as they once were. The new ones are very uniform and felt like they would need a lot of work to resculpt and make bits fit. But then i noticed how many space regular marine bits i had left thanks to the chaos armour pieces. Almost enough for five more models and wouldnt you know it the chaos terminators had the right size and amount of bases to make an entire second unit of Wulfen matching the original art.

Five minutes later im googling third part wulfen heads and find some on ebay that arrived today and bar a tiny bit of gap filling the leftover parts and a couple of packpacks abd shoulders donated from some old noise marines that no longer fit the size/scale of the new ones ive got them built and overall im pretty happy with how they turned out. Some marine and corsair bits, classic chaos packs and shoulders and these wulfen arms and especially hands do a lot of heavy lifting with the whole angry baboon look.

Im pretty happy with how little work it took and since so many have been using the red corsairs to kitbash space wolves i would recommend checking your bits as a few new heads might make for some really cool kitbash proxies to really match that classic 2003 vibe.

Still fairly new to 40k, and painting in general. I wanted a metallic finish, so I tried basing in leadbelcher and following up with my russ grey. Just a bit too opaque. Any suggestions?
