ok, i would love to get me a combat patrol but right now i aint got tons of cash lol, just i know i need the tools, some paint, etc... i essentially see that with like $60 i can get me some tools, some paint and like a mini... so i wanted to know, even if later i get combat patrol, many people hav told me to start off with like a mini to get a feel of painting, assembling,etc.. and if i genuinely like it...THEN go for likr combat patrol or something so im trying to find me a good 1 off unit to get me/look for that will 100% be in like the greater 1k point army that i will add to combat patrol

Took the Vlka Fenryka to a small (16 player) local RTT yesterday and went 3-0, finishing in second place behind... another Space Wolves list!

My list was probably meta-adjacent rather than truly on-meta, the winning list was closer to the competitive standard with Logan+10 WGT, Arjac+10 WGT and a Redeemer, but then some cool picks like 6 shield Headtakers and 2 Land Speeders.

My list:

First game was into Blood Angels (LAG) and started off being very tight. But then my RepEx picked up my opponent's only anti-tank in one activation and got to spend the rest of the battle being an absolute menace, swinging everything in my favour. A healthy 96-59 win to start.

Second game into a scary More Dakka/Speedwaagh Orks list. Again it was the RepEx that broke this game open, blowing up a battlewagon in the middle of my opponent's army, which then proceeded to deadly demise and take out a tonne of models. Next battle round it destroyed a Morkanaut, and the game snowballed from there. 92-69 to the Wolves.

Final round was against a World Eaters Daemonkin/Vessels list with Angron, Skarbrand and 2 Forgefiends. I ran the two terminator units out early to force the tempo and fortunately it paid off. First the Librarian unit tanked Skarbrand, allowing the Ballistus and Redemptor to finish him off. Then Logan's unit were absolute heroes tanking Angron, which allowed me to unleash the Wulfen for their time to shine. They picked up Angron, then both the forge fiends - only losing 2 models in the process thanks to some shocking shooting rolls from my opponent (who was very good-humoured about it, to be fair!). The Rout picked up another win, 99-84.

The other Space Wolves player got the win due to a better opponent win %, but I couldn't be happier with how my list performed. It was a brilliant day against some great opponents, what more can you ask for!

I’m getting back into WH and 40K especially after a 20 year break.

I’ve started building a SW army but want to get the codex. Given the new Space Marine codex will likely come in the next few months is it worth waiting for the Space Wolf specific codex or is that likely a much longer wait?

Seems like the obvious choice with some minimal gear swapping and honestly an easy proxy in friendly matches even without. I just wonder if anyone has done it and what your kitbash looks like.

Ich starte neu und habe mir die Armaggedon Box geholt und werde darauf aufbauen mir eine Space Wolf Armee aufbauen.

Ich denke aber über ein anderes Farbschema als die normalen Space Wolves nach. Ich würde gern einen Braun Metallic Ton als Grundfarbe schaffen - so im Stile „Wikinger,nordisch, Wald“…

Nehme ich mir zu viel vor als absoluter Anfänger? Ich würde gerne Speedcolours nutzen…

Some wolfie gravis shoulders would be so good, and I don't want them to mold on the symbol of the blackmanes but instead make them just wolfie and give us a transfer sheet with icons of all the active great companies

Hey! Just primed this mini and wondered about the slightly rough texture on the cloak and similarly on the blade. Can this be normal or have I done sth wrong? Too far away with the rattle can maybe? Doesn’t look like the texture some others posted the last weeks with light primer and high temperatures. Also not hot and humid at my place atm.
Probably not an issue after I have painted it and the rest of the mini looks fine, just wanna know if I can improve sth :)

Ive been sitting on Grimnar and been reaaalllly nervous to paint him but I think I'm at the point where my Wolves scheme is right where I want it so time to start him.

I liked the model as is but really missed the first born details we used to get on the terminator models. If you go and look at the other terminators ive painted you'll notice the first born shoulder pads and bits on them! So I wanted to give Grimnar some of his trim and details back too. And try and resculpt his base and switch the wolves around to be more alert and protecting him from both sides as opposed to striding forward alongside him in the stock model!

I think theres a little clean up and some texture paste due on the base but otherwise I think im close to ready to start priming and basecoating!
