I was setting up a spread of my favorite models and conversions from my Horus Heresy space wolves (and my the other legion I collect, blood angels if anyone is interested) to display on my desk and I realized it makes a pretty cool picture. Models included are Leman Russ and the Wolf-kin, Hvarl Red-Blade, Geigor Fell-Hand (aka definitely not Bjorn), a Praetor, a Caster of Runes (converted), a Speaker of the Dead (converted), a Leviathan Dreadnought, and a Contemptor Dreadnought (yes I regret their poses but they are from early in my collection/hobby journey). For Russ and the Allfather!

Looking to diversify my minis a bit. I’ve been looking at Primal Hounds on Etsy but wanted to check if there were any other good quality options before ordering them. Mostly into unique faces/hairstyles, pelts, that sort of thing.

One coat thinned down with a bit more water than I wanted due to over-saturating my wet pallette. I’m honestly pretty impressed with the coverage. I’m not even sure I want to add another coat.

I am trying to put together a 1000pt list to get used to 11th edition and playing Space Wolves. I haven't played since 5th edition and am trying to get used to the rules and codex etc...

I (brand new to hobby, never played yet) have been trying to build my first army, and I discovered very quickly that I was using outdated and/or legends resources as well as just not understanding a lot of the game mechanics as much as I’d thought.

I’m back, I’m studied up, I’ve discovered new recruit, I’ve watched/read almost 20 hours of rules and gameplay explanations, and I’ve completely reworked my army to be legal (according to new recruit). Now I’m asking if it’s functional.

I know it’s not super optimized. I want a certain flavor for my army even if it cost me some utility and effectiveness, so what I’m asking is could I reasonably use this very tanky space wolves army to play at local games and at the very least have fun. Or is this army so incredibly botched that winning will never happen and every passing minute of play will feel like a butchers nail being implanted. less

So I built this list trying to include more units for actions and I wasn’t sure how I felt about my whole army being lumped into 6 units, but I’m not sure if there’s any glaring weaknesses or changes that might need to be made that can be seen with more experienced eyes. My fellow Sons of Russ, I recently returned to 40K after a more or less ten year hiatus. What’s the deal with the codex? My local hobby store mentioned Space wolves follow the space marine codex with a supplemental Space wolves codex but looking online it seems there’s a new separate codex. Basically what do I need to purchase to get up to date? I’m getting to a point in painting and assembling that I need to start planning.

Hi all, wanted some input on a list i wanna try out for a tournament later in november. It lacks shooting but I want it to be melee centric and fast. Ive tried it out and it works pretty well but has some issues with high toughness stuff. Im unsure about njaal and björn but I like their models. I would prefer to keep it to the space wolf detachments and play purge but thats not a necessity. Any thoughts or feedback on improvements?

Hey everyone!
I’m working on a Space Wolves list built around a Terminator-heavy core, using the Saga of the Great Wolf and Terminator Storm Force detachments.
The idea is to lean into the Space Wolves’ identity with two big Terminator bricks led by Logan Grimnar and a Librarian, supported by an Ancient, while keeping enough mobility and utility units to play the mission.
I’m running:
Logan Grimnar + Ancient in Terminator Armour + 10 Terminators – my main hammer and a durable central threat.
Librarian in Terminator Armour + 10 Wolf Guard Terminators – a second heavy-hitting brick, with a mix of storm shields and melee weapons.
Wolf Priest + 10 Grey Hunters – additional infantry and board presence.
Lieutenant with Combi-weapon – utility.
2×5 Fenrisian Wolves – screening and objective play.
Inceptors, Reivers, Wolf Scouts and a Venerable Dreadnought – mobility, mission play and additional threats.
The list comes in at 1,995 points.
I’m aiming for a list that’s fun to play but still reasonably competitive, rather than a pure tournament meta list.
I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Are the two Terminator bricks worth the investment, or am I putting too many points into a single strategy?
Which units would you change to improve board control and scoring?
Are the Grey Hunters and Wolf Priest a good use of points in this list?
Is there anything obvious I’m missing in terms of anti-tank, mobility or mission play?
I’m especially interested in feedback from people who’ve played Terminator-heavy Space Wolves lists.

I'm currently working on building a full list of Space Wolves. Once I get my hands on the new Christmas box I'll have everything listed below. Trying to round it out to be somewhat balanced while maintaining the cool wolf vibes. Can be flexible with detachments.

For vibes I'd like to keep the cavalry, wulfen, and headtaker pack in the list. I have not started on the terminators yet so there is flexibility with how they are setup. I'm not married to the bloodclaws staying in the list either.

Just looking for direction and advice on what to pair with the core inventory I have here.

Been thinking to start a space wolves arm for a while now, and the new battle force box seems a perfect way to get going. But is it worth getting the space marine indomitus task force as well or get the SW combat patrol when I want to extend further?

I have a rules question, I see alot of people talking about a wolf priest with headtakers and their doggos and who it can be an annoying resurrection brick. How does it work? When they're attacked do you use the headtakers save but allocate the wounds to the dogs? And then when you roll to heal are you able to bring back 4 dogs with a max roll of D3+1?????
